back in the day there was this great pilgrimage of seasoned roadies that would head up to Boyne for a show down against the summer hardened mtb'ers for what was always one of, if not the BEST mtb battles we had all season. roadies looking to gain a edge before iceman were honed razor sharp after along season on the pavement, The mtb'ers were healthy for a grudge match in the north.great times.
Now for the those that were once in this ring, name as many as you can in this pic hint this is the start of the elite and expert field.

ReplyDeletei remember that weekend like it was yesterday, I loved staying that cheesy hotel across from boyne mt, the wood paneling and the outside hot tube wa wa wa , i hung out in it late saturday night with my wife, it came back to haunt me on the last climb the next day as Jimmy mc started to close in on me as cramped like no ones beez wax.. those Boyne weekends were priceless back in the day..

ReplyDelete"hot tube" the hotel had this agreement with adam eve a big adult super mail order company, at the time. each room had a supply of these things called hot tubes made for male or female enjoyment. massage type things for your legs, deep heated rubbin like tools.

ReplyDeleteYou mean this weekend at Peak to Peak? I see some roadies in the mix. Should be fast! I wish the start time was like noon though. Driving up the morning of the race will be a tough one.
