What a week it's been for Michigan cycling. The icing on the cake would be another race at Stoney this year.

Neal Schubel, a 45-year-old masters racer from Saginaw, Michigan, has accepted a two-year suspension from competition after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency found that he had purchased and used synthetic erythropoietin (EPO).

According to a USADA announcement issued Wednesday, Schubel’s suspension began on November 18, 2010, the day he accepted the sanction, but his results have been negated all the way back to August of 2006. Schubel readily admitted the violation when confronted with evidence in the agency’s possession.

Under UCI and USADA rules, Schubel is also required to return any prizes earned over that four-year period, but a review of his results posted at USA Cycling’s website suggests that he needn’t worry about that aspect of the Doping Code.

what ever program he was on sucked, cuz he didnt have the results to justify the risk. FUCKIN SAD!

    Too funny...

Do you really think Schubel was using EPO to get shitty results at Masters races? I don't.

My theory: He was supplying (re-selling) it to others in the Michigan Scene. USA Cycling busted him because he was on Joe Papp's list of clients. Unfortunately, the people who Schubel supplies will probably never get caught...

what a loser. and the rest whether they get caught or not, are full on garbage.

Papp has been out of business for about 2 years. I doubt this dude was supplying others. We have to be careful with this kind of talk or it could get nasty.

i can think of plenty of guys i would suspect of being on something. in fact 1 won a worlds masters mtb title.

Regardless of where Schubel bought the stuff, it's pretty obvious he wasn't using it on himself...

    Here's a possibility:

Wow - two Masters racers busted, one in "back-water" Michigan and one in the center of the universe Boulder, CO.

One owns up to his actions and takes his punishment like a man. The other says "I lent my laptop, credit card and SS# to people I didn't even know and they bought the drugs" and has 2-3 stories on VeloNews with the illuminati of cycling standing by him and attesting to his "innocence".

Neal, you should have claimed the EPO was for your dog!!!!!!

  24. Anonymous7:02 PM

I dont care whether he took his punishment or not , Its sick. The Guys results were garbage.
Let go of the ego. You race in Michigan, and werent even a decent mid packer in the masters cat. I have no respect for you.

wonder how many more are out there?

Testimony on how i got my LOAN from fundingloanplc@yahoo.com ...

I'm Isabella Tyson from 1910 N Halsted St Unit 3, Chicago IL60614 USA,, i have been searching for a genuine loan company for the past few months and all i got was bunch of scams who made me to trust them and at the end of the day took my money without giving anything in return, all hope was lost i got confused and frustrated, i find it very difficult to feed my family and vowed never to have anything to do with loan companies on net and went to seek of assistance from a very good friend which i explained all my experience regarding online companies with and said he can help me that he knows of a Godsent and well known company called FUNDING CIRCLE PLC, he stated he just got a loan from them although i was still very unsure about this company due to my past experience but i decided to give it a try and did as i was directed by my friend and applied, i never believed but i tried and to my greatest surprise i received my loan in my bank account within 24 hours, i could not believe that i would stand on my feet financially again. I’m glad I took the risk and applied for the loan and today i'm thanking God that such loan companies still exist and promise to share the good news to people who are in need of financial assistance because the rate of scams on net is getting very serious and i don't want people to fall victim when we still have genuine and Godsent lenders.. You can contact this Godsent company using the information as stated and be a partaker of this great testimony.. Email: fundingloanplc@yahoo.com OR Call/Text +14067326622 thanks
