Tripper..well rabbit?
Rudy..Tripper I put myself in the position of thinking like average American person, kids, jobs second marriage, mortgage, car payments, and a whole slew of other things that make up the majority of our society..and came up with a few things that make the dedicated cyclists look like a complete bunch of kooks.
It in the eyes of the people, a bunch of people dressed up like there favorite NASCAR heroes or their favorite football team out riding amongst traffic just infuriates them on there way to there destination..
Second, when there in this large clump of a group speeding along like the average person thinks they are pretending to be the Lance Armstrong, it really gets there goat..running red lights goofy hand signals only highlights the image that is a total mystery to the guy just got slapped with reality he will never be the athlete he once was in high school.
Third, sadly the dedicated obey all the right rules cyclist, gets lumped into the category of the last two guys riding the wrong way on the shoulder of the road clinging to two dollars worth of Michigan returnables dangling from the handlebars of his the 24 inch Huffy girls bike he’s trying to wrestle.
I mean Tripper, I love cycling, and all and well cyclist have the same rights as motorists, but even I’m guilty of making a rolling right turn on red and not being fully aware of people on bikes on the sidewalk..
I actually think it’s demographic, the entire state of Michigan was raised with a motor between there legs. Kids grow up, and move through bicycles, to dirt bikes, to cars..only the small percentage stick with a bicycle.
Something about people enjoying themselves on a bicycle angers a large amount of our population.
