It don't take much to wake me, Im a light sleeper, years of Dragnet and Mr Ed will do that to a guy, besides what most you all don't know...Im creepin while your sleeping. Im in the basement, bouncing thoughts and ideas back and forth off the Kenmore, and the More-Flow. Fighting Demons in the dark, and wrestling with new ones in the bright light. Im taking interviews and speaking to old ghosts, and making down time go in the best way I know. What does all this mean to anyone that gives two bits? I can tell you this if your "IN"...TMS is planning on shoving stuff down the throats that aren't, I ain't promising you a rose garden or the best year to come... but i will, with possible help from friends give it the just it deserves.

Some Anon'er yesterday asked where id been? Most don't care so its irrelevant what i have been up to, but since I'm up now, and out of the basement, I may as well open my mouth for a brief thought. I have many firm beliefs, and one is just because you have a thought doesn't mean you have to open your trap and speak it everytime it bounces through your grey matter. Sometimes its OK to keep it silent..doesnt mean i dont care..
But one thought that has been bouncing around inside my head and does more often than many is a little self reflection, I'm sure i spoke about it before.. and probably will again but we as humans sometimes need to get re mined, and now that Mother Nature is back on track, and cross season is closed up tighter than tics ass. Its a good time, put on your jungle truckers and stumble through my poor grammer and besides you might learn a thing or two..
I want everyone who choked through this.. at some point to look in the mirror, doesn't have to be now, just do it at some time before you turn the pedals in anger..ask your self some simple questions..

1. For 2012 whether your rolling a new kit right?, or even an old one, you got fools giving ya stuff ?..your reppin.....What do you do to deserve to get the hook ups your getting? think about it..

2. If 2012 is going to be your best year yet, Im going to be in the best shape of my life..What are you going to do to get there?

3. We all talk change. whether be our inner self, or scene change. How ya gonna do it?

4. What fuels your inner machine, without alittle mind fuel you may as well stick to pounding out hot laps at your local loop, hell and even then you gotta have someting to feed off of man cant live by loops alone.

5. And like it or not since hate abounds all of us ..in some way, shape or form, the key is knowing how to put it to a positve use. how ya gonna do it?

Simply put... results don't lie at least i hope not although they dont speak for everyone but when you consider the east series only avg about 100 or so odd racers 50% ain't all that bad. So i assembled a few quick surveys to your right and if you all could take some time to input honest ansers that would make this time worhtwhile..believe it or not the avg number of folks visiting TMS weekly from September through early December nearly doubles that of the regular season. that tells me that someone cares. and believe it or not those that bring this shit to you, care as well and theres a dam good chance they come here. Your output depends on your input..if the classes dwindle and riders lose interest..theres a good chance you ain't gonna get any more output...get my drift?

Rich's biggest asset is his experience, once an Elite podium sniffer...but the lack proper training leaves him class jumping now and trying to find his sweet spot, now he is up in the 45 bracket and that could spell the end of any elite podium time, oh well theres always Single speed, or maters 35 or 45 or B or??..

TSOB Adam York @325 -5 on skills +5 pedal efficiency, and +15 on his race head, perceived wattage 340. I would like to see this guy come in with fresh legs and focus on cross, cuz this muther fucker is tough as nails, not scared of anyone and i love that shit..i got all these vision of him going down swinging, bleeding and just fuckin still killin dudes..but too many race weekends and body issues left him hopping home for good healing. So many thoughts and words could be spit out about all of last weekend, I had planned a big long report of two days of great crossin in Miscene...But I decided against the long version, and im going with plan B, which is very befitting to how the weekend came to its end.
Bloomer park, been on the schedule longer than any other venue, and its always one of T's favorite, the memories and history run deep.....I could give you the number times we pinned em on there, I could recall past winners, what state champion was crowned there, Miscenes first UCI race and how now super cross star...JPOW almost missed his start readin Auto Trader, or when "just a pup"..JB nearly cracked the 10 in the A race against some fast comp, how about SuperDave K gettin run over by the EvilDude and some Suburban Home rider, Ron Stack beating the Black Ace on a MTB to take 2nd in the elite race behind the then UN-beatable LIL PONY....Or how at the present time the RoadKing pays back the nearly UN-beatable German Giant, and some Tanguy climbs on the boxes. Paramachicken works on his final prep for a possible Re-Peat.. the LIL pony rolls home, DC blows Sky HIGH.....or how about How Jgood comes in like Balboa..but leaves like Creed..gettin toppled by that LIL British squirt again, good thing he didnt have that Slayer dude in his group cuz it would a been lights out for him too... The Crossguy rethinks his plan for the National Title quest, multiple fools ride mouths open searching for more oxygen as fans cheer around the course. Bob W nearly misses the triple of DFL's..the one they call Big Mac gets sauced. Kelli P beats the Canadian Quiring Chick, and Queen Anne may call it a season...NO im not gonna give all the small highs and lows, and no shows, and MIA's and banter about who is going where and tire pressure needs to be run......its what the EYE GATTO used to refer to as..in the books..

Rest up fools as The Final battle is creepin, its gonna be so Good it brings a big ol crocodile tear to T's eye he pinnin it on..

This past weekend had some time spend with my old friend Gary its been awhile and we needed some catchin up time. He couldnt be here to speak but sends his best. We talked and he had questions, and I had some answers, and I also had none. 2. John Osgood. @275, +5 for skills -10 for pedaling efficiency and +10 for his game day cross head. percieved @ 280w. "John is good and getting better, by far the most improved rider, he is like the Rocky figure of tailwind cross.. all heart, but his size is a hindered, lose the brews, and do some some bigger races before the thoughts of handling Miscene elite cross should be thoughts in his head, when you got Master guys like the WIZ, PONY, Moncel and the Black Ace killing each other it aint gonna be piece cake look, the numbers don't lie..But that being said,...tough dude.

3.Dave "theCrossguy" Johnson, @275 neutral on skills and pedaling efficiency , and -5 on his game winning head. perceived @ 270w.. "Dave is getting better but needs some other racing during the season to work on his headand low watts, seems to flake at times, not a good combo when the stats are so close"

4.JMAK @ 265 neutral on skills, and pedaling efficiency, and +5 on his cross head, perceived 270w. "Jamak, has been racing for a while..has a good knowledge how to do it, but takin too many days off the bike mid season doesn't do a thing for a solid power out put, But his brains and the longevity are his strong points"

NUVO team, now merged with Bissell.

For the past several months, the NUVO Cultural Trail cycling team has been gaining new riders. It has seemed as though they were amassing a whole new army. And, well, they were. The announcement comes today that the Bissell Masters/Elite cycling team and the NUVO Cultural Trail cycling team will be merging into one single USA Cycling NRC Amateur team for 2012 and beyond.

This means several things. Bissell Pro Cycling has agreed to take at least two riders from the amateur team to race as professionals during the final months of the 2012 season.

Bissell and Advantage Benefits have now committed to an amateur development team that will bridge the gap between grassroots racing and the pro ranks.

NUVO Cycling Team Director Declan Doyle had the following to say about the merger: “We’ve already proven we can develop young talent from Indiana and beyond. We’re the ones who plucked Eric Young from the Little 500 in Bloomington and helped him join the Bissell pro team. Now he’s pro national champ. By officially working with Bissell’s pro team, we can do for other young riders what we’ve done for Eric. I am very excited.”

The team has also committed to donating all of its prize money from two team events to World Bicycle Relief. World Bicycle Relief changes lives by purchasing bicycles for individuals in developing nations who cannot afford them, thus giving them life-changing mobility and freedom.

BISSELL-ABG-NUVO will use a group of experienced racers to provide leadership and mentoring to the team’s young superstars. This exciting merger results from the collaboration between NUVO Team Director, Declan Doyle and Bissell Masters racer, Derek Witte, both of whom will assist with team management during 2012. Aaron Hubbell, himself a former National champion and elite track rider, will round out the management team.

destination: des·ti·na·tion [ dèsti náysh'n ] predetermined end of trip: the place to which somebody or something is going or must go.
I don't wanna get all philosophical about these but sometimes in our busy life we get fixated on getting there. Whether it be the new day, coffee break, lunch break, happy hour, night hour etc its a endless hamster wheel some of us catch ourselves day in day out... And most of you being athletes its only magnified.. workouts, group rides, trainer rides, A races B races C races. wattage numbers, race numbers, payouts, handouts,..after parties, sleepovers , hangovers and fuckovers..its a endless cycle of getting to the next destination.
All the while maybe missing the best part along the way.. is The Journey the true reason why we do what we do? I cant answer that for you, but in this case because TMS is mostly related to Miscene cycling, and racing, Its why this blog exits. But it may not be the soul reason why some of you do it, Hell T cant even answer that question at TAO time.
The reason i brought this thought of TAO up, is closely related to the HATRED and banter that's going on about Miscene cross. We go through every year about how stale some feel the east side cross scene has become, and how change is needed, but isn't going fast enough to save it before it becomes to moldy for even some of the most seasoned mouths to swallow. Hell I'm darn guilty of it, I set the pot out stoke the coals,and some help stir it. I have my opinion, stated them vaguely, but have never rightly spoke on it in depth as of late, mainly cuz i know it aint no easy job, change is hard and journey is difficult cuz we all want to get to the next weekends gig...And to be honest i don't want another one... job that is... got enough of those already..I'm stating this to remind myself to chill the hell and enjoy another part of my journey through the building of my soul..
If you can wrap your brain around this Lil TAO session maybe you will understand, I know its Just my opinion, and why the HELL not? some dirt clod a few years back referred to TMS as just another assholes opinionated blog I don't know if I was that said asshole but i guess I'm guilty by association.

D...The letter D can mean alot of things in T's head, its one of those letters that is expressive enough that I use it in many words in nearly every sentence of my vocab. I dunno know about you all... but to me It helps words be Descriptive and Dam meaningful. It Doesn't hurt either it when it Names people, places and things as well, it may not be a vowel and ABC Didn't make a Saturday morning skit about it but that's just fine by me.
But what it mean to you? Well two Days ago Detroit played host to a gig called Mad Anthony. And Dammit all it was Cyclocross the way Miscne needs it to be for a change..Different. With the Biggest race in Miscene just knockin on the door its easy to see why this Peak 2 Peak thing is gaining size year after year. It gives T hope that suck'as in numbers still like to pedal there bikes in anger so late in the season..To keep the Haters at Bay, better late than not all..
