Tuesdays with Lemmy

Help me Understand..What makes a good team..I mean more than a group of just drinking buddies, guys wearing matching colorful jerseys, using the same equipment or fellas hooking close friends, old pals up, maybe its quick new gunslingers or steely eyed  shop guys?....Im not talking world class needle injecting dope fiends..I want to know more what is successful in allowing a group to perfectly execute a solid plan of success on a local level..

I don't shave my legs and haven't pulled on a pair of skin tights in a long time..but i  really want to know..

A group of guys with a common goal... which doesn't necessarily have to be to win races.

"Fun" should be number one on a local level...

i like having "fun" as much as the next guy, but missing breaks and riding around for 8th place isn't exactly great bragging rights on facebook.

A lot of teams are "me" but good teams are "we".... at least that's what ?I tell my kid!

I've never been on a team. Between work & kids I fit in rides whenever I can. Doesn't match up well with team coordinated group rides.

i like the the unity from a group, if it works well its beautiful. If it doesn't it sucks balls.

  13. My team extends past my colors. To guys willing to give up their race because my face is bleeding off or lend me a part so I could race. That's my team too. I'd work for them like I would anyone else wearing the same kit as me.

You want to join a good race team? don't join the wolverines.

there are ppl out here who just want everyone to love them while they only love themselves

Not to mention how they are just one big "click" like a bunch of high school girls. There are a few decent ones on the team who don't fall into all the bullshit.

You are only speaking of a few of the good guys. Not the main "click". Sorry, but they aren't all the same. Most are selfish dicks.

What are you doing that's special? Seriously this is local amature cycling, nothing special is happening.

    its magic!

Im not even a Wolverine, and i often wish i was, maybe it is a form of magic, Im often envious of the core unity of a few, (not all) that they possess. I honestly don't see any staunch stereo type seriousness there.

other than some guys racing bikes and drinking beer. looks like fun to me!

  27. Anonymous12:08 PM

Thats just the problem, the core unity of the group is so great while they shit talk there own teammates behind their backs. I've been a ear witness to it. Talk about magic!

IS IT SHIT TALK OR JUST RACER BANTER?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous1:33 PM

Personal digs that have nothing to do with racing. They are magical alright. They race bikes and drink beer and back stab their own!
