Hey RocknRollers Im back..Dam it feels good...some RnR is always a welcome ghost..A few days ago while existing my favorite local liquor plaza..i ran into a couple fellow bike racers/sceners..roadies to be exact...ya know not "real" come over to your house hang out and throw the ball around to your dog like friends.but more the "social media" kind..we talked in passing about the goings on in and around our scene..discussed my place here at TMS and who's flyin and who's fadin.. upgrades down grades, there next race etc just regular shamy talk..except i wasnt wearin no fuckin shamy....ya know.... the phrase "pro 1/2" got tossed around more than i could count..it got me thinking why do some sceners that have the dubious distinction to carry a Cat 2 card often refer to there level or the next race as "Pro 1/2" where does the "pro" come into the equation? ..I get it may just be a force of habit pushed on upon them via USAC. or a "real pro may show up.. correct me if I am wrong cuz i probably am...but in all reality there are only less .than 001% in the scene that can call themselves Pro's..I dunno im not tryin to stir the pot..its just flat faced honest unspoken time wastin banter.. to me..

ReplyDeleteBecause the race is Pro/1/2... that's what its called. So what. One only has to look at the results to see who was there and whether or not it was stacked with top talent or not.

WGAF. Let them have their fantasy. They're on their bike. What harm does it do? That said, I do think people should get out of the scene and race somewhere else for a change to see what it's like. You know, where they have a crit field of over 100 riders, etc...

ReplyDeleteI am 2 and I am ok with it. I will race anywhere within a 4 hour drive. So should I stop racing? Seeing as I have never really raced in the first place. Are local tri's considered real racing? What about a kickball league? No I am sure whatever I find to enjoy life, probably isn't as good as somewhere else. Maybe I will just write angry blogs and make fun of others. Cause that the MI Scene does PRO style.

I dont get it Lemmy just proposed a question. Very rarely if at all does TMS ever post HATE filled topics.
99.9% of the time its those that post the slander.
Well there are no pros signed up for Mt. Pleasant. Not very many ametuers either. Is the scene totally dead?

ReplyDeleteSo TMS isn't to blame for the hate? They post stuff to get people going. That's part of the problem. Kinda like a drug dealer giving your kid drugs. He didn't make them doit but sure was a part in the activity. TMS is toxic and does no good for the sport of racing. Lies are told and people just come here to be dueche bags.
