lets get straight..
USAC is totally full on losing at the game of which it built for itself..
Human beings themselves want fun..
Human beings also love competition....
But most off all Humans love freedom..especially Americans..
Lets get down to it..
USAC..
Streamline the world of cycling for the masses...keep the high end full tilt boogie racing of crits and road races to a minimum..
think out of the USAC box
Put the riders money to work...
work a year ahead and directly with a paid state or regional representative to establish a series that can be put into place Jan 1
keep it simple...seek sponsors outside of cycling..the bike world and shops have no money for that in there budget
Lets not leave it all up to a race promoter who are probably trying ride, race, raise a family and then work a 9-5 job or whatever..or better yet..one requirement for the local USAC club..promote a race?
Wanna race a Fondo? good idea..
Let the USAC racers go off first..
USAC is worried of the youth of our sport I would be too..kids aint riding bikes...and having a after school program aint working..
this is tough and i dont have a solution to society that has raised our youths on hand held devices..
But the mid somethings are not the future of cycling
Gravel world? and Mountain bike races?
Better get on on the first before it be too late..
But dont make it all USAC complicated ..lose the Cat 1/2 pro mindset.
base it off distance..and age..but dont get silly keep the lengths respectable..
good lord you dont need a 12-24-28-62-100-200 mile events on the same day..
the age groups..sheeesh keep those simple too..
Ride whatever you want...
its a start and you gotta start somewhere..
I dunno

I really liked the dirt road derby in Oxford, 35 blazing fast miles, 1 loop, everyone is done pretty quickly and it doesn't take away your whole day. Plus it was short enough to be a slug fest start to finish.
Also wish South East Michigan had one of these.

Right on. Nothing irks me more than classes for different types of bikes.
