I know im gonna be hated for this but i love it..

maybe its cuz Puc wears it..or maybe just cuz sometimes its hip to be ugly...

When you decide to dive-bomb that last corner of the crit from 15th spot because 'this is your chance to win,' I hope you invested well in your skid lid.  Anything sold by a major manufacturer will keep your skull from smashing to bits when your hypoxia-induced dreams end with you pile-driving the pavement and none more so than the POC.

The POC Octal is their flagship road helmet because aero helmets in mass start events are for noobs and if you don't believe me, ask Lemmy.  It'll set you back 2 Benjamin's unless you've got an inside line and weighs in about a little under 1/2lb or 200g for those of you that think you're training and racing in Europe.

First, the good: Some of the best protection out there (POC and Volvo have a partnership and the Sweeds know their safety), lightweight, and some of the best ventilation there is.

The bad: This is Michigan folks and if you got out of bed last week you know that Winter isn't coming, it's already here, so those vents that you loved in the summer are going to be your enemy from now until June.  The chin strap does not stay adjusted so you had better be comfortable taking your hands off the bars at 30mph (50k for you Euro-fucks) going into turn 3 with 30 of your closest friends around you to make an adjustment.  Last, it's fugly.  Remember when foam helmets came out and people called them 'beer coolers,' this is what they were thinking about.  It looks like a giant bucket on your head.

It’s aero without looking gross.  It’s light without sacrificing comfort.  It’s safer than safe.  And it has sunglass ports.

Old skool cool looking.  

Nice leather chin strap.  Non-slip gel to keep that sucker in place.  It’s Italian!

Because going fast and looking like a fly doing it is rad.
