The Ace Trumps um, at Baypointe

You may not like his taste in fashion but theres no denying he's rollin, Jon card takes the elite race at baypointe, after a explosive first lap a group of 6 consisting of The Cane creek trio of Card, Foshag, And Weinert along with the quiet one Mike wissink and young gun Tucker Olander, flying Rhino Tim Sari, spit out the rest of the field. The group beat the shit out of each other , for the first lap Sari would be the first one to crack, that left 5 for a few laps the Cane Creek boys would attack and Wissink would cover everything Tucker and Foshag would climb back each lap, but the pace took its toll on Foshag as he came off at midpoint. leaving the group of 4, Olander began to fade at 40 minutes and Jon card decieded it was time to go and outpowerd Wissink and Weinert, to take home a convining win infront of his wife and 2 kids. Wissink rolled in at 2nd showing his usual good early season form Weinert hung on for 3rd, The big race was for the last $$ spot when Master Stark caught the last Cane Creeker, Foshag would fight back but would eventually succumb to Stark, impressive ride Rich no doubt, good thing he didnt take Foshag to the line . Whew the rest of the field that didnt get lapped rolled in ones and twos...
B race saw Michigan east Trek Rep. Jay Moncel take it, with strong win. industry guys do ride!!
C race had a new winner Jacks Bikes Jason Melcher took it wire to wire..
The masters race was won by None other than old school former Michigan mountainbike honch Don Cameron, he had some good comp from The Rhino Todd frierichs.
elite women had ann Shwartz back on form to deal with a unreal ride lapping the entire field, were the heck were the Saturn twins ?
Tony Weizorek wins the junoir race
the course was a super sweet design and It was a switch from last years state championship of snow and sub zero temps. NICE
thanks robert and crew for a great race, and the EYE of
Gatto for stellar pics, i know i still owe some $$$. i havent forgot.

This was a great race no doubt awesome course. fast scoring too bad the road races arent scored this quick, without the Cane creek guys, the elite race would be tad on the boring side. MM
