The Way Back Machine

Hi Mr Peabody...whats this?
Well Sherman my boy i must of hit the wrong button on the way back machine..and it looks as though this week we may have went in the wrong direction..
Why is that Mr Peabody?
Well you see Sherm...At one point the upper Northern most point of Michigan was the home of a NRC full blown pro invite Road race..
Neat o..............
Yes Sherm it was Neat o..and some lucky not so pro Miscene riders got the chance to take part in it..
Well Mr Peabody..i thought the scene had hosted this race before..?
True Sherm, but in years past it wasn't on the NRC calendar. And it was fair game for any solo riders to step into.
This particular race was made up of teams only and consisted of groups of 8 riders only. And iy had groups of not so pros scrambling to come up with composite like teams, with riders being begged borrowed and swooned to wear a kit not to there norm..

Well Mr Peabody, how did our local neo pros stack up against the real riders?
Sherman, it was a day of attrition i believe with most of the local talent, finishing but not making the required UCI time cut off.
The best placed scener would be the oldest of the Howard brother Graham although Brent Bookwalter, and Bradley White would place higher, These two would be well into there professional career as Graham was just getting his legs on the pro scene.

WOW..
But that didn't mean the your fellow local riders didn't have there day in the sun. The race would see a break early on containing The Black-Ace as well as a few other getting there licks in as well. And a rarer than Rare sighting of SIMONSTER on a full blown road bicycle.

HOLY COW....
But Sherm old friend like alot of great things the mitten has scene..this too would be the end of the line for this race. But for that one sunny afternoon in Northern Michigan your local boys got a chance hit white baseballs in a beautiful stadium
