Tripper…I got ask you something?
Rudy..what’s up Tripper
Tripper..I noticed you haven’t been riding
Rudy..why do you say that?
Tripper.. well I have not scene any of your rides on Strava
Rudy..so
Tripper..well why..
Rudy, I’m riding
Tripper, no social media posts
Rudy..I’m riding
Tripper.. ok then tell me about your new bike and that sweet over the top shoes and helmet you got for Christmas
Rudy..didn’t get anything, actually I did pick up a sweet second hand rim brake bike, and a last years helmet on clearance.
Tripper. Are you kidding
Rudy..no tripper
Tripper.. G rabbit aren’t you worried you’re not gonna fit in?
this is kind of a joke but I just want to see how you feel
Rudy.. See that’s the point trip. I feel like cycling has got to this point to where it starts off because it feels good and you want to feel healthy and happy and then slowly a progresses into this. I gotta have a new bike every year a new kit, and then comes shoes, matching socks, helmet, and next thing you know, I’m making monthly payments on sunglasses Then comes keeping up on all of the random social media accounts whether it’s your physical ones or the ones you’re posting about how awesome the ride was and your achievements all the while You lose the connection with why you started it in the first place.
Tripper. I see what you mean rabbit it would be really easy to get sucked into that world and I think those that don’t fall into it and are still holding true to the reason why they started riding a bike are very fortunate
Rudy. Exactly tripper so what I’m saying is is I’m trying to throttle it back a little and find the balance that I had back before everything started moving so fast.
