Allen Park...Carny Mutants, Nazi Beats, Iron Men, and a Jackass

2008 edition of the infamous Allen Park crit, if the old addage is true they save the best for last, we may have seen the last of crits at ap as we know it. with the exception of a few key notes, were going to let the results speak for themselves.

Only 19 of the 60+ riders in the 1/2 field completed the entire 90 minutes

Many riders doubled or tripled there races, hats off to guys like,, RICOSER, Godfather,Bruce, Foshag and DOCSAVAGE, few made the 1/2 cut and placed well in other events.

For many the weekend proved to be costly as there were grumbling of broken wheels due to the rough coure.

Cat 3 saw a nasty crash that put down Miscene favorite LUPE MARTINEZ from leadout racing.

John Zaccone nearly stealing a upset in the 1/2 race riding a FELT cross bike UGH!

PH chicks setting Kristy Keeley up for a great lead out.

Ben Renkma has got a killer MULLET.

the So CALLED WHO CARES IM FLYIN AWARD should go out to non other than TIM ROCKSTAR FINKEL even after partying all night he still rode HYPERSPASTIC in the 1/2 and honched in the break, and nearly made TOP 10

Saturn of Toledo's Chris Brinkman winning the Cat 3 race as well as the 16-18.

Allen Park, is I sorry one of the weakest races of the season. It is not a crit. but a dumbed down version of a lame circcuit race. Good thing superior is coming up

so tell us, how did ya do?

Word on the street is that BOTH the Common Crit and the Maillot Jaune RR WON'T happen.

Hope you didn't miss AP cause to do many more races in MI you'll have to drive th 9 hours to Marquette.....!

OH, IL, IN, here we come!!!!

Anonymous said...

well i guess we'll all have to pile in your car so we can race. hell if it does happen its probably a blessing for some as mid JULY burnout is coming.

OK, I know the iron men, a nazi beat? would that be a german techno group? and the Carny Mutants, UH they live in the trailer park down the road... BUT.....JACKASS who's that? TMS come on fill us in.

A real crit will have many turns, dirt and switchbacks. At least 2 steep climbs and a place to cry

It has been announced that the rest of the road races in Michigan have been canceled due to fact that the promoters have been convinced that Mi racing is dead. all racers are expected to compete outside of michigan until further notice.

Anonymous said...

there is no money left for travel to outside of state races, since half the AP racers are spending thier savings repairing damaged wheels and tires!!!! Turn 4 pothole - 1st class wheel/tire killer!!! Looks like Waterford will be the hottest race in the state!

the MICHIGANSCENE said...

we heard that was a 30K pot hole when it was said and done, too bad alittle hot patch coulda of saved alotta people some dough.

LAMB OF GOD

Anonymous said...

Hmmm, seems that pothole was there before the race and on every lap, therefore it should have been no surprise.

I'm sure Frankie used to ask the ASO boys to remove those errant cobblestones north of Paris as well...

Sack up, it is the same course for everyone.

this isnt paris ruby, tms is out on the whole euro compare thing. but we somewhat agree. its the same for all.
in that case those orange michigan mascots should of never wandered into the first turn.

i hate this whole thing, why is it anytime someone airs an opinion good or bad, assholes jump on the cryin bandwagon, OK so there were some bad spots at AP, scoring issues at other events, cars at Kenssington, negative racing at cone. etc. but its racing and no one is losing sleep over it except those that are projecting negative attitudes towards fellow racers, we know who the assholes are. they speak loud and clear, they may be able to put down the course, and in the fields but the fact there assholes make em look like LOSERS. And i will always be a assholehater, not a eater, or baker or what else the alas wanna call me. lighten up assholes your payin for this, NOT gettin paid.

Anonymous said...

So who's the Jackass?

Anonymous said...

thats the question eh? how about some guessin if tms aint fessin up?

Anonymous said...

I say we bring out the gimp.

Anonymous said...

I'm going to guess that the person suing MCG because the Kensington course was "too rough" (if I heard Joe correctly?) is the jackass.

YEA BRING OUT DA GIMP!

Anonymous said...

OH, WHO'S THE GIMP?

joshua tarrant said...

this has turned into the mtn bike message board with a bunch or shit talking. The guys out there winning these races aren't posting comments on here or complaining about the course. The fact is, you should be happy there are any races to go to and if you don't like course or the potholes or the cars or the gravel in the corners then don't race. No one is forcing you. And stop all the crying. I think we all show up to race and have fun.

the MICHIGANSCENE said...

agree, whole hearted, never complained.

Da Gimp never complains. Here comes da Gimp.
