There are actually a few MI Scene women in there. Marne Smiley, Rachel Steele, Erin Vicary, and Whitney Kroll Good job to all the MI women.
yea,
but there NON factors, not to speak poorly of our female crossers.
"not to speak poorly of our female crossers"?!?
Umm, that's what you are doing.
Kind of like "I'm not gay or nothin', but . . ."
At least they are all lining up, learning the ropes, and having fun.
Great job to anyone who tries something that they may not be instantly the best at.
Shit-talking doesn't get you UCI points, by the way.
Shit-talking doesn't get you UCI points, by the way.
no your right about that, shit talking doesnt get you UCI points but neither should just linning up or EEEK gasp, getting lapped. UCI points seemed to be getting handed out in the womens field like free condoms at the health dept, hey women? condoms? are we on to something here? I mean I know rules are rules, but god dam, thats why most of the US gals get there guts ripped out on a international level. its ok everyone gets a trophy right, at least thats what there telling the kids these days.
having fun= UCI cross points! whadda concept!
yup, they are getting their guts ripped out, but at least they are getting the opportunity to get stomped at that level. No one really likes getting his/her ass handed to them every weekend, but I think that people from their own state could at least acknowledge the effort (like Hank did).
Michigan is a little pond that has had some BIG fish coming out of it over the years, and they didn't get big just racing in state; They got big by paying their dues. Who knows, maybe a few of these Miscene women will become the next Katie Compton? Or better? Maybe a little more support from the little Miscene fishes thrown their way?
Could you imagine how many MI Sceners would be on that list if UCI points were handed out for shit talking.
Well put Hank.
'nuff said.
HUGE!
I love ya hank, and the rest of you sceners, as much as the next crosser, but MY OPINION, is when a person gets lapped, or is on the verge, all bets are off! that goes for $$, and points, yes, i know the UCi doesnt see it that way, But in my book, getting lapped means maybe you should reconsider your place in the cats.
Like a said MY opinion, IM NOT shit talkin just speakin my mind. thats why i love the scene so much!
hanks lonely and tryin to score
Very well put dagnasty, and I agree with the no payout for lappers, but what are you gonna do? It's hard enough to get people, especially women, to stick it out in this sport, and the ones who are there shouldn't be punished because no one else shows up. The money they spend in gas, hotels, etc. is the same, and they commit just as much as the men do to racing (maybe more, because they have to also deal with the smack-talk about making $$ for finishing). Maybe the UCI C1/C2 races should do like USA cycling does, and require a minimum field size to award points (obviously, usa cycling in concerned w/ upgrades, but the logic is the same), or reduce the point available based on field size.
At the same time, nobody complains too loudly when a MEN's race is poorly attended, and everyone who finishes gets a payout. In MI, it just happens more often in the women's fields. But why bag on the women who DO show up and race?? If you don't like it, convince your GF/wife/niece etc. to race.
What say you Miscene?
ya'll think T hates the girls, GOTTA AGREE! DONT DIS THOSE THAT SHO, COULD GIT NO ONE AT ALL. ITS A TOUGH SPORT THIS CROSSTHING IS.hard enough toget any womegen out
I do agree that if someone gets lapped they shouldn't receive money or points. I also believe that we should recognize and respect anyone that is out there representing our state regardless of their finish position. We should also be happy to see the last place finisher in the C race and not bag on them because they didn't do so well. Everyone just needs to have a little respect for each other, these racers that people like to slam week after week could just stay home and then who would you be beating.
true dat, thanks dude.
this place is as bad as the MMBA board!
Have you looked at the mens international results? It's not just the Women "getting their guts ripped out".
A last place finish in the 1st world cup for the U.S.ofA's Adam Myerson. 2nd world cup, a midpack finish for USA's Jonathan Page & a (Whoa!) 3rd from last place finish for Adam Myerson. There's room for improvement for both the MEN & the WOMEN on the international level.
