It doesn't surprise me that our scene finds racism funny. What is surprising is that the Mi-Scene are racist. Oh, and please be men (uhhh, never mind trying that one because it's unattainable at this point in your life.) and don't use the "First Ammendment" thing as cover for lack of immagination. Just move on and be what you are. Thanks.
WHAT SURPRISES ME IS THAT SOME PEOPLE CANT LOOK THROUGH THE SO-CALLED RACISIM CONTENT OF THIS YOUTUBE VIDEO AND SEE IT FOR WHAT IS. A COMEDY ROUTINE BY A SMALL GROUP OF UPCOMING ACTORS. NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS. I WONT EVEN GO INTO THE MUSIC THATS PROBABLY PLAYED ON YOUR RADIO, IPODS.JAMBOX ETC.
Most of us realize that the comedians are just trying to earn a buck. That's not the point and to say "lighten up" is a weak attempt to re-direct the issue. The point is that they're using racism to earn their buck. It is still racism. The misconception is that because the comedians/actors are black that it is not racism. That is where everyone that says "lighten up" takes the bait. They assume, or ignore the fact, that the blacks would use racism for their personal gain. Actually the actors are pretty smart (although in a detrimental way) because they realize that the U.S. is full with ignorant people who will buy their goods and say, "lighten up".
Funny or not, bad taste or not, for Scene benefit or not, still racism.
what if tms posted a video of a white, flannel shirt wearing, 4*4 driving fat ass redneck from some midwest hic town, and he spoke of how much beer he drank and how many times he slapped his wife around after he had doggie style sex in there mobile home, all the while bitchen about is low paying factory job.
would anyone cry racism because of that?
or is it stereo typing?
either way, i didnt find the skit all that funny nor did i take offense to it for the black community.
thats my 2cents.
hopefully we can write it off to poor acting. or its a "black thing" and you wouldnt understand.
