Mugged in Murder City

Life..something T thinks about all too often, sometimes too much, Like many thing before and probably in the future it brings the old crocodile tear to my eye. How something One minute is soo good can go so fast. Dragnet, WKBD, Popeye at lunch, pizza rolls after school, mad watts, smooth Poto's and old girlfriends...One minute your laughing with the Atlanta crew, next thing you know you could possibly be getting laid out. Sometimes its too much for to even T to compute, But i can say this whole heartedly when i do ponder the later, I embrace what i have even harder, instead of what I don't have or used to have.
Last weekends gig got me thinkin, along with events that impact T's life as well, before I roll into my Banter, I gotta give my fellow scener SIMONSTER a thought..GODSPEAD..TMS and all those behind it...are wishing you a speedy recovery..
My Banter about last weekend...what change from years past and kinda of quiet ending to our time together on skinny tires, and plastic bikes. Years back we had three days of blood shed, Murder City weekend TMS often referred to it..and some worn out folks come Tuesday morning, as time went on the beatings continued, just not as severs as before, and 2011 we got mugged on a Monday and left some wanting more..So some may say, thats OK im ready for something different, fair enough T, is always up for change, change is what makes you grow, become, better, stronger, and without a complete Murder City weekend...and only alittle muggin...ya'all appreciate that shit even more if it should ever comes home gain.

okay, so time to bash the points series. look at the guys who win this thing finishing top 8 like 17 times and maybe a win at a small race or a couple podiums. Then look down the list a ways where you got guys winning multiple races and finishing on the podium like every dam time. Now who is the stronger rider? Who is the series leader? I'm all about giving props to guys who show up but they should not be consdierede the top guy in the state. This thing should be figured on top 3 or 5 races or something, or the points should only go to the podium each race.

Take a look at the master where you got a few guys who win most of the races they do every year. They have probably beat the "points series" leader in every friggin race.

just a thought.

after doing a quick USAC search, it looks like Mac Brennan completed Nature Valley (MN), Joe Martin (AR), Superweek (WI), Elite Nationals (GA), Elk Grove (IL), among various other regional races and still managed to win the series by accident and without doing a single time trial. Ballin.

so true..but dont forget to count trackie races as well.
what a god dam joke.

MBRA series is a complete waste of someones time, and internet space. I think TMS should keep a un Official runnin points total for next year. maybe give out some TMS swag that always rumored to be coming out.

Anonymous said...

a god dam joke?

do you know what joe gets out of this? nothing. how much he gets paid? nothing. instead of receiving gratitude as he should, get gets anonymous ass holes bad mouthing his efforts on a blog. take a step back and ask yourself what YOU have done to make michigan cycling better. how many races have you promoted or even volunteered at? its no secret we're operating in a grass roots scene and its going to stay that way. we need efforts like joe has put in to the mbra to keep racing cool and fun for everyone, especially newcomers. the mbra is not without its flaws but shit, be grateful for what you have.your shitty attitude is what's holding people back from stepping up in to fill the shoes of your newly retired mbra director.

Anonymous said...

no disrespect to Joe, because he is a great guy, and its NOT his fault, but If your gonna do the job, do it right. not half assed like so many around our so-called "scene" do.

Anonymous said...

Bitch, bitch, bitch....... all fun and games until your the one trying to please all. Fuck all you haters and fakers... step up and do it better.

Anonymous said...

Must be cross season, the Bitching has been on an increase since Sept 1st.

I'd gladly take Joe out to a lobster dinner and not call him back.

The series winner is supposed to be kind of a joke. I don't think it's designed to crown necessarily the best rider. It's for those of us that don't go out of state to race and don't have pro aspirations. It's fun and a lot of you guys take this little hobby way too seriously. Just try to have fun with it.

Adam said...

FYI - Birmingham P1/2 payout situation has been cleared up. Stay tuned for payment. Please contact me if you haven't gotten anything in two weeks.

Anonymous said...

good, my car payment is due. thanks for the update Adam.

The complainer about the series leader might want to do a little more research. The leader on points will not be the official winner since he did not do a TT. This even though he was in the top ten in every race he entered which was only ten in MI. As for the TT check the U23 nationals and you will see where he would stack up to the pretenders. Joe keep up the good work.

“The series is supposed to be a joke” – If racing full out from April to September, battling the whole way all over the state in so many different kinds of races is a joke, then this whole sport is a joke and why again do you even care about bike racing.

Yeah this whole sport really IS is a joke. Jokes are fun. My point was that racing our bikes doesn't matter, it wont make any of us rich, we wont become famous, and we probably wont change anyone's life. We will however make some lasting friendships and have fun staying fit. That's all this is about.

Anonymous said...

Joe I agree with your statement about being a complete racer for the series. Would be nice to somehow have the TT races in the morning combined with a criterium in the afternoon. Would probably have a bigger TT turn out if guy's could drive down from up North for more than a TT against seven quy's.

Anonymous said...

All of you are fucks, do it better if you think you can. If you can't ride with the big dogs get on the porch with the puppys. Michigan, in its screwed up way has turned out enough world class riders to compete with any state.
