Tuesdays with Lemmy

Help me understand..racing a bicycle with no "goals" racing just to race..to finish, to follow wheels..to have fun..not to get drop..I mean I am old, ugly, cranky..and almost tone deaf.. fuck i don't even own anything trendy and drink the shittiest liquor my dollar can afford.... but  that doesn't mean im outta touch with most things..I suppose I get the personal soul enjoyment..and the "fun" part...but paying for it..for Christ sake couldn't you not get that from just riding your bike..with friends or in the splendid glory of nature? Like all things I strive to understand...

Everyone has a goal when they're racing, it's to finish the best that they can. It's these guys that behave like they are training and placing in national/international level races that are the complete ass clowns. Get over yourselves you're a local amatuer.....never to be pro!

Sounds like chunky dunker

The scene needs pack fill. The people racing with goals aren't enough to keep the events alive. I don't give an F what anybodys race motivation is, just sign up, pay up and shut up.

Since this blog is all about negativity...

There are two types of negative thinking: give-up negative thinking and fire-up negative thinking. Give-up negative thinking involves feelings of loss and despair and helplessness, for example, “It’s over. I can’t win this.” You dwell on past mistakes and failures. It lowers your motivation and confidence, and it takes your focus away from riding your best. Your intensity also drops because basically you’re surrendering and accepting defeat. There is never a place in cycling for give-up negative thinking.

In contrast, fire-up negative thinking involves feelings of anger and energy, of being psyched up, for example, “I’m having a really bad day. I hate riding this way” (said with anger and intensity). You look to riding better in the future. Fire-up negative thinking increases your motivation to fight and turn things around. Your physical intensity goes up and you’re bursting with energy. Your focus is on being aggressive and separating yourself from the field.

good comment!
but your a tad wrong, this blog is not written in a negative manner.
Some, not all visitors thrive on negative banter. Its like T once said. Like a burning building some people just cant stop themselves.

That is depression bipolar disorder, not negative thinking. Get over yourself and stop doping and thinking you are a PRO! Better yet shut the fuck up and ride your bike.

Who the fuck is Lemmy? Guess I'm too young for this shit.

I raced for over a decade in the Michigan, Ohio, Indiana region on the road at the Cat 1,2,3 level. I had flat out had enough of the negative racing and the Tour De France Team mentality of the local Amateur scene. Bunch of Pussies; that would rather slow it down. "I'm working for so and so and I can't pull through." "FUCK OFF, POSER!!!. And FUCK LEMMY!!! LOL.

I still do 10,000 miles of riding on the road a year. And enjoying the scenery. I'm just not Cool enough to race like a the Pro's do anymore. YUCK!!! We're amateurs, RACE YOUR FUCKING BIKE, and if you don't want to go hard? Get the FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!!!

Heavy metal is for guys who are insecure with their sexuality that they need to appear over-aggressive because they think other people will think they're otherwise gay.

1134 this is good, but I would take the negativity a bit further. 3rd type: i am sick of this negative racing. I will just attack the f out of these lazy wheel sucking m-fers and hang my sack out there and see what happens. Maybe some other similar thinking f-er will join me in the gladiation and we will smoke these chodes. If not I will go home tired and toast and will curse thier names all day. But at least I tried.

But ypu know what. This works some of the time and beats the MI wheelsucking all the time. True dat?
