lift off

This aint no morning thing..didnt for one nascar second think it was induced by anger..the girl from the shell station up in Westbranch hasnt called in six months.... its not brought on by that tiny blue pill..my T has been just fine.....so i cant honestly put my greasy finger on what emotion got this body bloody all erect and outta bed at 4 somethin in morning....but somethin did..and i am bustin at the seams to just go all rotten style and start a good old southern man rant ...but i wont cuz i am keeping those two crazy fools at bay and holden my cool and all the while  keepim my grammar lousy...
Who in the love all things black let that MBRA post about all things champion get through the necessary social channels and make its way into minds of those who support a series that falls short of nothing less than...I ant mad em about the whole sleeping with that shit on...but i know the company i keep wouldn't let me get three steps close to the ol snake pit wearing something made of second grade Taiwanese fabrics... and quality control of faulty materials..i mean what legit racers wants a Janet malfunction when there getting ready to take on all the hot shoes..but i guess "when you sat in the back of the pack all day" breathing and waiting to take everyone in the sprint you have all the time in the world to zip that shit up and prepare one of your finely choreographed town line victory salutes...i cant even keep my composure i sit here and shake like Jimmys gramma thinking about the obtuse mind that controls something that could be so good...but make ridiculous statements like the last...if thats what its coming too i dont if i can..

I sure don't wanna make a better burger ..I aint here hatin..and i wont ever post a job for a proof reader...hell i aint even here...

How are some of these cats making large
gains while training "alone"?

Anonymous said...

Large gains to most americans = actually becoming athletic. Stop drinking so much beer you fat fucks and you can realize these "large gains".

Anonymous said...

show me a rider over 30 "making large gains"

I can name quite a few near 40 who were at
1 level for yrs...then a new training program
suddenly found them more gears.

If Adrian would have typed out the word "dopage" and then started claiming dudes juiced up to win state titles then the shit would have really hit the fan. She didn't though. Instead she decided to use her position to make a stupid statement, and she did it twice. That's poor form in my book. And while I respect the work she does - because who wants that job? - we certainly could call her out for some of the decisions, or lack of, that she has made in the past.

A question for all of the "scientists" out there:

If a dude going faster now then he was at another time means he is doping, does it also mean someone who is not going fast now, but was at another time, was doping when they were going fast?

Anonymous said...

I fully agree. wouldn't want the job. But her statement was a poor choice, in fact IMO unprofessional not once but twice Almost as if she was pointing a finger. As far as the Dopage goes? I don't know and i would be careful of who people claim are doping due to a increase in there results. Who knows what they were doing prior to these. I did not see anyone in that 30+ age range riding off the front mouth closed winning 1/2 races.

Can we get some context around the Adrian comments for those who are in the dark?

From the MBRA Facebook page:

State Championship Jerseys will be shipped soon.

If you're one of the few who won a MSC jersey this year, congratulations. You earned it. Even if you sat on the back of the pack all day and sprinted at the end. That's cool. That's bike racing.

The delay you may have noticed in the shipment of said jerseys is due to a quality control issue caught by the manufacturer: a questionable zipper.
Rather than ship jerseys that may or may not have had faulty zippers, they chose to wait until the issue was resolved.
You'll be glad they did. Who wants a jersey flopping open at the wrong time?

Also, while you're free to wear them to bed for the first several nights (who wouldn't?), we prefer you wear them in the races of the corresponding discipline next year so that we can admire your accomplishment. Even if you sat on the back of the pack all day and sprinted at the end. Still cool.

Way to go MBRA. Nice work demeaning some of the racers you represent. If you have such problem with races ending in sprints why don't you get to work and promote some races that have tougher courses.

the whole series is kinda grey. not including state championship events as part of the overall makes zero sense to me.
And a winner take all point series? maybe all races should be that way.

Lame statement by MBRA: true. Not necessarily Adrian--multiple people can post as MBRA on that page. Dopage? Anything is possible but no over 30s just came out of no where any more than any 20-somethings. A maturing and stable work life and kids that finally sleep through the night will take any decent talent from mid to front of the pack.

interesting i read that and giggle because it comes off as she was joking around

i assume that anything more than poking some fun at sprinters is someone just upset someone peed in their cherrios

probably the same guy gets upset about gravel road races. i dont think anyone who just focuses on cx can really point fingers at anyone "cx guy" is just above "recumbant guy" in the 2 wheeled pecking order and behind "tri guy".

learn to laugh, the joke is on all us

anyone/everyone who posts here is the butt of all these jokes

we are posting anonymously in a fictional universe that we pretend we are at the center

nothing here should be taken seriously

I wrote it. Shoot me.
It's tongue in cheek. Please lighten up. I'm not outing sprinters. It was meant to poke fun at the people who don't "get" bike race tactics and get upset at the fact that they spend all day on the front and then lost to someone who sprinted.
Those people exist. And there are more and more of them who have come into this sport thinking that the guy who hammers the most should win the race.

I'm going to continue using humor on that page and the MBRA web page because I know the sport well enough and love it enough to joke about it.

Yes, Adrian has dished off some of the content duties because she's got her hands full with family matters.

The MBRA is on the job and just as concerned about the scene as you are. They are working hard to make everyone happy.

Sorry if you misunderstood the post on FB. I will be writing more in the future. Be ready. Hopefully, knowing who's writing it will change the voice and prevent misunderstandings in the future.
