5 Dan Lam
all around quiet and good Bissell guy..breaks his hip for the second year in a row, and decides to call it career...

4.The AAVC
after numerous years and counting the AAVC decided that it no longer needed to offer any sort of overall series award for the spring training race series that they also were not keeping track of for 2017...sighting its a training race...but we are still keeping the cost at full price...later it was overheard at registration by fellow AAVC members "we got tired of paying the same riders the paltry sum of 200$ dollars split 2 ways" after four weeks...

3.Scotty and Tommy show
after basically winning every cross race he entered in Scotty got to go up against what could be considered the tail end of the old guard Tom Burke at the 2017 State Cross championship..

Burke pretty much flew under the radar all summer and raced very little cross...The two did not disappoint..as the win was the closest to date..with the Roadking edging Scotty out by mere hairs adding this to his second State cross title.

2.Doping
some random douche bag refuses a piss test at the 2017 edition of ICEMAN...furthering the belief  that doping is prevalent even in our filthy scene
The only reason this one ranks number two on the TMS big one hundred is because we just couldn't give that cheating fuck another number one...

1.TMS loses two great fellow sceners..value your today as you never know...

Thanks To all that made this list possible...and give the folks at TMS reasons to post random dumb worthless shit...

Fuckin great list Miscene! I loved every bit of it. Technically you couldn't give the cheating dumb ass Webcorp the 1 spot because he refused to do a number 1. He is a giant turd so number 2 seems very appropriate. Keep up the great work we all appreciate it.

...and webbcorp is about the dumbest-ass tag you could give yourself

Well said. That guy is totally a #2. He can go to hell and get fucked by Satan.

Fuck AAVC, those guys have never got it

That sounds so painfully shitty. I can't believe more of us haven't broken our hips. No thanks.

This should have been #1

Broken hip...wouldn't wish it on anyone

I can't give that troll account a ranking below 90 in the 100 of the year list. So it's not even close to #1. Whoever is responsible didn't have the fortitude to do more than like 10 posts. That's week sauce. And then to beg for attention 2x's in these comments is reason enough for relegation. Truth be told, it was a poor ass attempt at parody too.

Hating hard on a training series decision that impacted 3 people. Says a lot about the weakness of the scene in Michigan. Dick move by race director, yes, but a training series that holds that much weight on the scene and the change affected like 0.5% of Michigan racers. #4?! Please!

People that constantly talk down about Michigan racing are absolutely the weakest part of the scene. We actually have it pretty good, and would have it better if people like you didn't constantly tell everyone how shitty the scene is, and our racers, and the races, and the payouts, and it goes on and on. A training race can mean whatever the riders racing it want it to mean, I've done plenty of "real" races that didn't mean shit and I've ridden hard at training races with a desire to win.

I gotta disagree with you and back up 11:39.

The way the AAVC behaved effects way more than 3 people. They are now charging premium fees to everyone, and providing less of a service to everyone. And doing it with an "I don't give a fuck attitude".

The fees are the race prices - obviously.
The lessening of services is by not keeping track of the overall in the series. I mean is it that hard to tally up the scores each week? Spend the time keeping track and post the results. I know for a fact that series positioning means something to a lot of people. Post that damn scores and help motivate the racers you are charging top dollars to.
And the attitude that you are not scoring and paying out because it is the same people winning each year is a kick in the balls to us all, and probably a bigger insult to those that were showing up and winning the thing each year.

your wrong..period

training race:
beginners clinic
drop fees
one class race for fun

or the smart thing to do
make it legit series since we keep losing races every year

Cleveland offers a similar series

you cant have it both ways otherwise it comes off as greedy and self centered

Gotta chime in on training series. If they are such a big deal that says a lot about the state of racing here. The Grattan and Waterford summer series at least don't bill themselves as training series. But they're so far from a TOAD or Intelligentsia Cup that you can't take them that seriously. Yet they are all staples of Michigan racing. Riders race those events hard. Winning is hard. And the effort put in to keep those series alive is huge for Michigan racing. But if people are so concerned about standings, it's no longer a training series. "Wednesday Night Worlds" taken too literally.

When training and mid-week race series are key features of Michigan racing, no wonder people outside the state don't come to Michigan for other races! Makes it harder to draw fields for the other events in the state. So good on the race series, but if we're grading the Michigan race calendar, we're looking at C+ tops.

i agree
but the few that are going outside the state is lesser and lesser every year..the weekday racing is hard as hell, why because not everyone can blow a whole weekend driving to a race. I am totally into the weekday gigs

the training races? for years the only thing about them being training was the the title it was given. I could care less if they go away tomorrow, but there is no denying, winning at those "training races' is not easy.

Michigan will never be the big hot bed for racing.

My 2cents

Michigan

promoters need to get on the same page!

Non USAC races in Michigan are far better than all the BS that is going on in the
"normal" road scene

If only the magical “Don’t do it USAC; do it like B-R and Iceman” unicorn were real!

If only promoters would listen to me, the holy rider, and not their communities, venues, sponsors, and volunteers, then racing would be so much better.
