1. Suburban Homes:
Mid Y2K a super Wolverine esq team emerged..they picked up a pile of whos who for a season..PappaT, Rippin Ronnie, Hell even the illest Pony and Frankie donned the kit a few times...like most of these super teams it didn't stick around but maybe a season or two..but they have some cool looking Colnago Limar helmets tho....
2.Whole Foods:
another Wolverine off shoot...like Surbabn homes they picked up a pile of guys, and gave Miscene sprinter Renkema a kick start as he won the Cat 2 race Downers-grove in this killer looking kit..Heck even the infamous Robert 100 mile Herriman rode for em
3.Saturn/Shell:
This solid group revamped itself for a few years and around 2005 came locked in loaded with a whole slew of hitters, they kinda set the bar for teams, as they had enough to fill all age brackets and category, and genders funded by multi car dealership deal. to be modest they had the grip. Not mention fast dudes that checked wins every weekend, and had a solid composite team for the final edition of the NRC Tour De leelanau
4.Team Alpine:
The first of the modern times Killer team..Swatloski, Adams, Vanwesip, Alan Z, Brett Robinson etc..even ScottyQ gave the road a try armed with matching Cannondale rigs and the eye wear of the times Brikos..the little green men notched wins from Midland to Muskegon for a few summers.... in TMS opinion second best kit to date...
5.Sunrise Sports:
Holy bat turds this team was big..comprised mostly of a pile of young Cat 3 riders, team Sunrise was some rich guys hard on......they stuck around and and got in the mix a few a few years before the old bastard found out running a bike shop and funding a team is a money losing business....one of the all time almost s Vince Roberge came from this crew
6.MCG/Trails edge:
They picked up the left overs of team SunRise..but like the before mentioned running a team out of a bike shop is a kiss of death for someone..Trails edge is now tits up and the only thing that remains is a few jerseys and lost water bottles at the Tree Farm...best thing to come of this team was the hard ass fuckin nails Bunny..
7.Essex Brass:
Lots of brotherhood here, started way back, and had some passable kits, Danny K Gilboe Crazy dave Mullins...it got reinvented for a few years, and saw a short resurgence under that Sorry guy and few other up and comers... and even had ad on 89X at one point..fuck thats a budget..little known fact The Black Ace sported the kit a few times..
8. Ford, No Boundaries:
Christ did this team field a strong group back mid Y2K..Adams, Docsavage, Tarrant, SuperD, Jim Bruce Nick Durrey..etc...a all 1/2 team.there wasnt much wrong these dudes could do together..they pretty much dominated most crits for years...
9.Lathrup Industruies:
morphed from the Ford team..Lathrup had gunslingers, but ageing and family's started to slow down the roll...bringing The Roadking, and the Evil-Dude on board help re-ignite the old fire for a few years..still pretty much still intact today mostly due to the fact these guys are all good friends
10. Cane Creek:
I dont think there has ever been a more solid 4 man wrecking crew like the Blue-Wave, funded by the Black Aces old pro team, The Cane Creek crew got someone in a break at nearly every race they went to, not satisfied racing in just the scene alone they traveled to hard shit as well Snake Alley, Sommerville etc..then when fall came around they became the juggernaut of cross in a tri-state area, notching UCI points and state titles for a few years and oddly enough all of these guys were 35+ at the time...
11.WMCR:
Swatloski and boys ripped the legs off many dudes for a few seasons..with a crew like Shoberg Renkema, Burke the Hendler bros, Power Monger Greg Christian Willy bros...it was hard to not be the team to watch.............shit that was a tough ass team...
12.GS/Blaukamp:
Funded by some old guy or company wanting to remember something...i dunno what though
it was huge for one season riding Quatroassi rigs and campy parts..its was the beginning of stacked teams..Adams, SuperDave Darrell Uhler, Eric Forrester and sweet Guy Seth rounded out the squadra
13.Bells Beer:
Fuck me..this was the MTB of all team, the coolest kits to date...SIMONSTER, BeerBuddy and Joberon were a killer trio for a while add in a few Hot chicks and ScottyQ, good time Johnny and they pretty much owned the trail scene for a few..this was the best of times in the TMScne
14.Advantage Benefits group
The beginning of what was the starting point for many riders, Bookwalter and Sheedy both cut there teeth ridning in these kits
15. Priority Health
the off shoot from above Onam now wouldnt be Onam now without the green and black kit of the PH crew of Y2K...solid enough it went "pro" with its deal...

Ah man, GS Blauwkamp was in honor of Greg who a lot of those guys raced with and cancer took too early. A bit odd to phrase that the way you did with them wanting to honor a buddy that cancer took.

awesome
The Pony rolled with Blaukamp too
great historical summary! thanks TMS
