You can never say folks don't try...

The legend has it back around early Y2K after a few soft Tacos and a couple of Mr.Pibbs two smart guys came up with this Idea...the Cyclocross series was now in full effect on both the women's side as well as the Elite men's..if you didn't win the State Championship...the series overall meant something too..but in all due respect the winner of the State Championship needed something more than standard USAC medals...

After little debate, two outdated BMX trophies were found and refurbished...and they say the rest is history..well fools maybe not that easy.

The Cups were meant to have meaning..on these cups the names of each state champion would be recorded yearly..a solid form of record, not something that was just internet filler..also the winner of the cup would get to take this home with him to share or do whatever he wanted to with it..get motivated...gloat what the fuck ever...for years I think the cup was generally just taken for granted..

Sitting here and really thinking it over I have two opinions...

• Why not call the series the Michigan Cup? let's add value to this thing for a change..if you're going to be the main sponsor...Hell, call it the Michigan Bike Law CX cup. promote it.
• yes, the cup should be returned before October 1st and someone that actually gives a crap should have that cup on display in a kick-ass way so when dudes that actually give a shit about an overall can see it...

I dunno maybe folks don't care..maybe it was a dumb idea...maybe I'm just kicking a dead horse and all the scene really wants is plastic zip tie mud flaps and courses laid out under gunfire..

If so

 then T will keep his mouth closed and the State Championship/CX scene and all it stood for remain what it is.
