While pizza hut is mediocre at best, MSG is actually not bad. Just thought I'd share that tidbit of enlightenment so we can all eat with less fear. Here's a good listen on the history of why it was demonized.

Do you get those effects when you eat sodium or glutamic acid (amino acid), or is it the placebo effect? MSG is in "natural" foods like tomatoes, seaweed, and cheese. There is literally not a pizza without MSG unless it doesn't have cheese or tomatoes. Everything is made of chemicals, and MSG is not what you think it is. Real studies (not personal anecdotes) find no connection to your symptoms and MSG. Your headaches are likely from something totally different. Just saying.
I recommend not gorging at the Chinese buffet, and then you'll feel fine.
I guess I should say, maybe MSG does actually give you terrible headaches, but in that case a lot of so called natural things will. The more you know....

yes i was diagnosed by a doctor to have allergic reaction to MSG, and surprisingly it wasn't even in the gorging of Chinese food. It came from pizza sauce.

The main myth, for the other 99% of humans, especially related to chinese buffet food had to do a lot with people simply eating too much. Anybody would feel like crap after a salty, fried buffet.
