the pony show..

Why is this rotten focker so drawn to the used up bike world.. ???

i cant decide whether its just the shear passion of seeing what people stopped loving or the curiosity of what the going cost is for used up love machines...but its like vomit on the sidewalk..i just gotta look..I honestly allow myself a mere few minutes a day to check what's up on the block in and around this scene..some id pry open the Velcro for......... others id pass ...Some i often consider works of art..others are works of art bought by dude with a deep credit limit..and others id put back on the black flea market..

Trek 7600 Multitrack drop bar gravel bike

$650

This bike is in beautiful condition. It's a 1994 Trek Multi-Track 7600 aluminum. Top tube is 22"c-c seat tube is 19"c-c.  I built it up last year. This frame will clear 700x43 tires with room to spare. Drive train is original STXRC 3x8. Levers are Tektro with SunRace shifters that I have built up like a set of Gevenals. They work really well. It weighs 23.7 lbs as pictured.

Gravel king 700x38 tires are near new. Has new BB and headset. Salsa Cowchipper bars are new. Ti stem. New saddle and post. Newbaums bar tape. New chain. Wheels are straight and true. Hubs are Shimano 400 I think. Kool stop pads are new. King  bottle cage.

I cant figure it out but i love these old Frankenstein like bikes...the lure of glorious gravel has breathed new life into old steeds...im given it the good old honest sign of approval...

GINO BARTALI'S LEGNANO BIKE 1947 VINTAGE RACING BIKE CAMPAGNOLO CAMBIO
 CORSA

ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HISTORICAL BIKE EVER SEEN.

LEGNANO WAS THE BRAND OF ALFREDO BINDA, THE MOST FAMOUS ITALIAN RIDER DURING THE PRE SECOND WORLD WAR PERIOD. THIS BIKE WAS MADE BY BIANCHI UGO THE FAMOUS LEGNANO FRAME BUILDER FOR GINO BARTALI. THIS BIKE WAS CERTIFICATED BY BIANCHI DINO (THE SON OF BIANCHI UGO) ABOUT TEN YEARS AGO. BIANCHI DINO WAS VERY FAMOUS FOR ALFREDO BINDA TOE STRAPS AND IN ITALY THE GREAT EXPERT ABOUT LEGNANO SQUADRA CORSE OLD BIKES.

THE FRAME NUMBER OF THE BIKE IS 4716 WHERE 47 IS THE YEAR 1947  AND 16 IS THE REPARTO CORSE SERIAL NUMBER. THE FRAME SIZE ARE CM. 55,5 (C/C) x 55 (C/C).

THE BIKE WAS BOUGHT BY A GINO'S FAN AT THE END OF 1947 GIRO D'ITALIA (GINO WAS SECOND, FIRST UNTIL THE STAGE VITTORIO VENETO-PIEVE DI CADORE, THE WINNER WAS FAUSTO COPPI).
HE LEAVE THE BIKE FOR MORE THAN 60 YEARS IN HIS BOX. THERE IS NO A LEGNANO GINO'S BIKE LIKE THIS AND IN THIS CONDITION. ONLY OTHER THREE LEGNANO GINO'S BIKE (1938/1946/1948) WERE KNOWN.
THIS BIKE IS IN THE ORIGINAL CONDITION AND WAS USED JUST FOR FEW RACES BY GINO. GINO USED TO HAVE TWO LEFT AXEL CAPS BECAUSE IN THIS WAY HE COULD SCREW THEM BY HIMSELF. IN FACT HE HAD SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH AN AXEL CAP DURING 1940 GIRO D'ITALIA THAT HE LOST (THE YOUNG FAUSTO COPPI WAS THE WINNER).

THIS BIKE WAS FOUND WITH THE ORIGINAL SILCA PUMP. THIS SILCA PUMP IS ONE OF THE FIRST MODEL AS WE CAN SEE IN GINO BARTALI'S PIC WITH HIS WIFE  AND THE TWO LITTLE SONS LUIGI AND ANDREA. NO ONE DISASSEMBLE THE BIKE OR PART OF THAT. THERE ARE ALSO ORIGINAL BROOKS TOE STRAPS, BROOKES SADDLE, GARA STEM AND CAMPAGNOLO CAMBIO CORSA COMPONENTS.
THE ORIGINAL THEETS ARE 14-16-18-22 AND 49. THE BIKE WAS DESCRIBED IN IMPORTANT ITALIAN BICYCLE MAGAZINE AS WE MAY SEE IN ONE OF THE PICS. ABOUT SHIPMENT THE INSURANCE COST WILL BE PAYED BY THE BUYER.
