Dear Barry Roubaix friends,
As we continue to look forward to 2021 and the prospects of getting back to some normalcy in our lives, we wanted to provide some updates regarding Barry Roubaix. While we are hopeful that 2021 will allow us to once again race and celebrate in the numbers associated with BRX, we are finding ourselves challenged with uncertainty while planning for the scheduled April 17 race date. As much as we are hopeful the virus will be under control next Spring, we will not rely on hope, only to find ourselves once again having to postpone or cancel the event due to ongoing health and safety concerns.
With this in mind, we have decided to officially announce 10/2/2021 as next year’s Founders Barry Roubaix event date. Our team and key race stakeholders believe Fall provides us with the highest probability for having the 2021 race. Fall also gives our team ample time to plan for the best possible experience you’ve come to expect from the Barry Roubaix.
Furthermore, we are planning the following dates for opening event registration on www.Bikereg.com; 4/10/21 at Noon EST for racers that donated their 2020 race entry and have a guaranteed reserved spot /opportunity to purchase a 2021 entry.
We will send additional details on the process for accessing registration in early March. Registration for the balance of the 2021 race spots will open to everyone 4/24 at Noon EST. As we move into the new year and plan for the October date, we will continue to monitor the state of the virus and keep everyone informed should we need to make any changes to these dates.
Once again thank you for all the support you have shown our team throughout this tough year. We are excited for the better days that lie ahead and the rides and races that will bring our cycling community together again.
