Holy cow Mr Peabody where did ya get the wheels?

Well Sherm, Pro Deal..Sherm, Pro Deal

What’s a pro deal Mr Peabody?

Well young man, some industries have special perks for people that they feel represent there products in a semi professional way. The company will offer a discount to the consumer much lower than the average suggested retail price.

Oh you mean like the internet 2nd party price?

Well uh..yeah..sorta..

Ali Express?

Well no..but Sherm often the naive consumer will get a special perk to go along with his/her purchase. Often decals, t-shirts, water bottles it will give them that feeling of being a sponsored professional athlete , and allow them to hashtag the company on other social media platforms with the chance of securing a better pro-deal in a month or so on a competitors product.

Oh neat, So why did you pro-deal this sick set of 1970s Ferrari formula one magnesium hoops?

Sherm we got a lot of ground to cover tonight, and we need to be speedy..so let’s continue with our story

The group from Toledo consisted of two up and coming junior racers, two aspiring Cat 2 riders, a very smart coach by the name Steven McGregor. But for the upcoming season of  2002 they team beefed up its roster. Adding a slew of Cat 3 riders, a small Masters squad, the infamous Black Ace would join Jeff and Will.

You mean the Ex Norba pro?

Yes! Sherm the Black Ace in full retirement mode joined squad.

By this time team was up to around, 15-20 riders, and they shed the washed out yellow, black and grey kit, to a new fresher red/white and blue kit.

The Saturn of Toledo squad was shaping up nicely.

So Mr Peabody, how did they do?

Well Sherm, the group consisted of mostly Cat 3s, Of course the The Black Ace had his traditional good rides, but they were not killing it per-say. Masters riders were getting there licks..But I do recall one weekend when the Cat 3 boys held there own against a stacked Midwestern field.

Tell me Mr Peabody, well Sherm for a number of season a Ohio promoter would put on a one off what was once was believed as the biggest cash payout Cat 3 race in the country. It was 3K to the winner and it paid 20 deep with a 100 rider field limit. The race was held in Circleville Ohio and the only race of the day was the Cat 3.

Well how much did the boys win?  I believe Sherm after getting punched in kidneys, later ran up on a curb. spit at and a water bottle thrown at him out of the 12 Saturn boys that went south The Evil-Dude came in the top 10

Nice..

yes sir. The team saw a few other good rides on and off with a new to the sport Paul Stanton, Paul was getting guidance by the Black Ace and it was starting to show as he was a consistent top 3 Cyclocrosser against the likes of The Pony, and The Ace, and one of the first the in the scene to use the uber rare and expensive Dugast tubulars

WOW!

Well Sherm, this too is just the Lemon next to the pie.

But why are we stopping here..

Two words my friend..

Bro-Deal
