The Way Back Machine

Sherm..why are you not in the Sedan ?

This story is boring

Boring Sherm????

Yes..its going no where..

Sherm my fine young man your about to see what happens when a cycling club gets begins to develop new riders in the most extreme bad ass way..

But Mr Peabody..its been dragging on for weeks..cant we talk about something else rather than a dried up old bunch cyclists

Sherm get in the time machine and shut the fuck up...

So let’s get back up to speed..the year is 2005, Saturn cars are kinda selling and the owner is ready to drop almost six digits into a group of amateur cyclists. With the the local USAC club healthy and turning out fit athletes the time was right! The Saturn of Toledo co funded by Shell Oil was stacked with a group that was represented in all categories. The Masters 35 plus had Matt the TT monster Diesel Thourot,  Cone Azalia pro 1/2 winner Jeff Crawford, Steve The Cyborg Clark..cyclocross strong gal Rachel..waaa waaa Steele. Cat 3 series champion Chris Brinkman, and a whole slew of others including a healthy masters win nearly every weekend  45+ and 55 + squad.

Yes sir Sherm, there wasn’t one category that wasn’t contested for the win by the Saturn boys. Not to mention they were all awesome figures of people.

Why were they so awesome Mr Peabody

I’m glad you asked Sherm, at the State championship road race in Kalamazoo, Steve Clark well off the front on his way to a solo victory within less than 3K to the line. Stopped to help a badly injured rider until paramedics could arrive. Sacrificing his own win for a title.

Wow! That’s cool..I remember hearing about that. I didn't realize they were that good. Didn’t Jim Reagan win a masters title at Seven Springs Pennsylvania?

Yes good memory Sherm...but i believe he was second on the day

So please Mr Peabody say this is the end of the story...

Sorry to say Sherman...no...

Awwww maaaan

Lol...Shell Oil.. must of sold stock..cuz Sherman..the next two seasons will see a much stronger group emerge from south of the border. Complete with a new kit and bicycle sponsor, along with a few familiar faces

See ya next week...
