1. Alma GP or the Springfield Oaks UCI? Boy tough call but I got to give the nod to Uncle Bobby and the Tailwind crew on this one despite not having social media, and lack of cool swag, those folks pulled off a great race, never has there been soo much wattage in one place as it was in Davisburg those few years. JB carried the torch and did it with style that will be missed..

2. Sara Williams vs Queen Anne, bright kit, and flashy bike adorned by kitty ears, would never be enough to stop the queen! Sara has a cool style but, when Anne got rolling she rarely stopped, soo much so she would race race the Masters men for competition, not bad for a gal that saw the best side of 30!

3,Bikes that stop! Hands down! you could not offer me free entry fee for the entire season to ride a rim brake bike of the days of yore. No way!

4. The Pony Vs Burke, Holy booger picking Moron! Bring the Pony back from national championship form and plop him next to A few years ago Burke and that would be a race, right course, right conditions, right form. I’m not even gonna call it. But there’s a reason why Burke is still around!

5. Masters of 2004 Vs Masters of 2021...Not to through the back in the day gang under the bus. But i think on a good all show up day the Masters squad of current crop, would leather pretty much everyone from the days of yore.

6. Tire technology of 2004 vs today’s treads, tubular tires, to clinchers, the current crop of treads to today far out  number the choices of  the old days, It’s laughable to imagine trying to wrestle one of those Tufo tubular clinchers on a box section Mavic, when folks grimace at the thought of seating a Tire of a tubeless rim, I’d love to hand them one of the before mentioned...

7. Gotta give the AAVC huge props for growing that junior program, because the only thing we had back in the day was lil Gooch and a few other Masters racers kids willing to suffocate for a Sunday. Hopefully the scene gets healthy for those kids to bloom further.

8. Michigan CX 2006 Vs Ohio CX today...well back in early Y2K Michigan was on the forefront, a series, a UCI event, hell even the Black Ace lived in Miscene, (sorta) just reap the benefits of a healthy racing lifestyle, but then things fell apart Ohio took note, and the OVCX series happened, and the Ohio folks sent the Michigan boys home to there respected mothers to dry out and seek suitable employment. But as of 2021 it looks like Ohio got hit with the same sickness as the scene as it’s series limped miserably into December with fewer and fewer races, and questionable turnouts.

 
9. National Championship Miscene Attendees 2006 Vs 2021, not sure what it means when folks would of rather traveled 8-9 hours away for a National championship back 2006, rather maybe the 4.5 hour drive to this years, got to believe the Miscene representation is probably close to the same as the old days. But still its in our back yard, and so few took the full advantage of it.

10. Awards 2013 Vs 2021. Alma aside..Do they still give out awards, hard to tell as the promoters can not even post results in a timely fashion, pathetic.

11, The Michiganscene 2012 Vs The Michiganscene 2021, speaking of pathetic, TMS can not even supply enough riders for TMS to do even a properly composed pre-season, or a semi decent Power rankings. Its soo bad I think T wont even answer his texts from TMS anymore 

12. Kisscross 2011 Vs Kisscross 2021. We used kind of poke fun that the  Kisscross as being a lesser promoted events, But whos laughing now, at least Kisscross has stayed true to there roots and kept an even playing field for the past 10 plus years, but they too unfortunately were not immune to the virus lack of interest took a few hits on the chin this fall, having to cancel events in not a good sign.

13. The Elite field 2011 Vs The Elite field 2021..is it even a question? did Burke even have to warm up a few weeks, or did just pull the old Paul Martin get out of the car head to the line and ride around with his mouth closed?  Like holy hell! 3 riders. i dunno maybe next year will be different, but I gotta think the coffin can only handle a few more nails

 14. Entry fee cost 2012 Vs Entry fee cost 2021..At least back in the day you had the option of a price break for registering for the entire series! oops there wasn't one of those, so comparing single races, to single races, its probably a break even. But then there is always the awards or lack of..

15. Race announcer 2012 Vs Race announcer 2021. The no announcer is just a plain boner kill, i mean create a vibe, something fun, Put Icky Thump on repeat or something for crying out loud...the current vibe is a setback to the days of of no fun..I’d give my left nut to hear Robert throw out a few tracks from Hootie , or Our Lady peace
