Juggernaut rolls through mid ohio, gets ready for NATS!

The Michigan crossers rolled through mid Ohio sunday afternoon. Jon Card and Ann Schwartz rode away with wins in the Elite race, Card suffered a midrace fall that left him sore from a possible torn muscle, The Flyin Rhino Ann had little competion and walked away with another win. The Blue wave Juggernaut was missing a few riders but still held up the honor as Foshag battled back after a early race crash and finished 6th, Tony the GIANT KILLER was second in his race.Matt Barloi snuck in for 3rd in the masters. The course from the recent report was a far cry from what the Michigan riders were normal to, it featured lotsa turns almost NO pavement and at least 3 bunnyhop sections. Infact the report from Rob Foshag he was able to bunny hop the double barriers and said they were not as high the regulation UCI 16 inches. A early morning thaw made the corners like ICE and the straights a quagmire. From the brief reports i have gotten from the few who made the trip it was worth the drive for 1 last tune up before Cross Nats this weekend. On another report the Cane Creeker at large Jeremy Walker finished second in a race near his hometown of Pa. Good luck to the Blue Wave, the Rhinos, Sunrisers, The Red Army, and everyone else headin back East. make us proud!

Mid era
By the mid to late 1980s, Allin was a heroin user, alcoholic, a heavy smoker and generally abused all intoxicants given to him. He was poorly groomed and rarely cleaned himself. At this point, Allin also began eating laxatives before performances as defecation was becoming a regular stage act for him. Allin described himself as "the last true rock and roller." By this, he meant that rock and roll music itself had started as an embodiment of danger, anti-authoritarianism, rebelliousness but had become largely taken over by corporations and business concerns. Allin's music and performances were thus meant to return rock and roll to what he saw as its roots.
Allin idolized country music legend Hank Williams, Sr, and saw himself as a kindred spirit. Both were relative loners and outsiders, both were habitual users of intoxicants, both lived with few, if any, possessions and both travelled the country relentlessly. GG Allin's acoustic output, documented particularly on the EP The Troubled Troubador, was heavily influenced by Williams. He recorded his own rewrites of Hank Williams, Jr.'s "Family Tradition" and David Allan Coe's "Longhaired Redneck", calling his own versions "Scumfuc Tradition" and "Outlaw Scumfuc" respectively. Later GG Allin also released another country album Carnival of Excess.
During this period, Allin collaborated with Bulge (aka Boston hardcore punk trio Psycho under a different name, on the album Freaks, Faggots, Drunks and Junkies), The Aids Brigade (the infamous 7" EP Expose Yourself To Kids) and The Holymen (You Give Love A Bad Name). Allin also began performing many spoken word pieces. Video footage of these are available but rare. It was during this period that Allin recorded his Murder Junkies album released by New Rose Records and featuring the band ANTiSEEN. This album contained 10 musical tracks and 10 spoken-word pieces. Other than Freaks, Faggots, Drunks and Junkies, Allin considered this album to be his most polished professionally recorded album that explored his persona and stated his philosophy on life. It was also during this period that Allin recorded the War In My Head - I'm Your Enemy album released on Awareness Records and featuring the band Shrinkwrap. This particular album consists of one 45 minute track that is a collage of spoken-word pieces which Shrinkwrap put to music.
Unwilling to seek steady employment, Allin supported himself by selling his own records. He also claimed to have committed criminal acts such as breaking and entering, robbery and mugging. Allin was also fascinated with serial killers. He wrote and visited John Wayne Gacy in jail a number of times and Gacy painted a portrait of Allin (see American Serial Killer Art).
By this point, Allin's performances, which often resulted in considerable damage to venues and sound equipment, were regularly stopped after only a few songs by police or venue owners. Allin was charged with assault and battery or indecent exposure a number of times. His constant touring was only stopped by jail time or by long hospital stays for broken bones, blood poisoning, and other trauma.
Another attraction to Allin performances was his continual threats of suicide. In 1988, Allin wrote to Maximum RocknRoll stating that he would commit suicide on stage on Halloween 1989. However, he was in jail when that day came. He continued his threat each following year but ended up imprisoned each following Halloween. When asked why he doesn't follow through with his threats, or sometimes his on-stage defecations, Allin stated, "With GG, you don't get what you expect—you get what you deserve." [7] He also stated that suicide should only be done when one had reached their peak, meeting the afterlife at their strongest point and not at their weakest. [8]
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Allin's imprisonments became longer in duration. He served a particularly long sentence from (December 22, 1989 to March 26, 1991) after being charged with raping and torturing a woman in Ann Arbor, Michigan (he ultimately plead no contest to assault charges).
In a psychological evaluation made as part of the trial (see "clinical transcript" in external links), Allin was judged to be of at least average intelligence, and was described as "courteous, cooperative and candid." The unnamed evaluator noted that Allin did not appear psychotic, and appeared comfortable with his unorthodox lifestyle, but that he did have symptoms and behavior consistent with borderline personality disorder, masochism and narcissism.
In the trial, Allin asserted his innocence, claiming that the woman had participated of her own free will. There was were also some facts in the case which might seem to support Allin's claim that the woman was an admiring fan who threw herself at him for publicity. As noted in the clinical report, the witness offered contradictory testimony to police, first claiming that she was attacked by three men. Only later did she accuse Allin.
It was during this confinement that Allin felt energized about his life and "mission" as he put it. He wrote the GG Allin Manifesto (1990) during this period. Meanwhile, Allin's growing notoriety led to appearances on Morton Downey, Jr., Geraldo, The Jerry Springer Show and a memorable episode of The Jane Whitney Show.
At the end of this period, Allin's appearance became definitive. He shaved his head, removed the middle of the moustache a la Genghis Khan, dyed his beard red and shaved his entire body. In addition, he was increasingly covered in poorly done, cheap 'home-made' tattoos and scars from his violent stage performances.

Somebody tossed a fishing net and came up with this load of pale puss, so they did that whole "catch and release" program and threw it in the back of their minivan and dumped it off at the local Mary Mason concert with the rest of the white sacks of weeping bat semen that infest the malls across the midwest. If I see another one of these retards hanging out around the Hickory Farms, so help me God, I'm going to just snap and stomp their skull into the cracks in between the steps of the escalator. Ol' Rubber Hose Arms here isn't immune to this treatment as well, so he'd better start scraping some of that damn caulking off his face or else I'll grab him by the legs and drag him out of the back of my pickup down the I-94 at 90 miles an hour until all his facial features have been ground into a fine red paste that I can use to paint my garage.

GOOD THINGS

All good things must come to a end...at least for another season the 2006 Tailwind cyclocross series wrapped up on a cold blustery note in Waterford, with some Chaotic race action all across the board.
Lets get into it, LIL Joey Fortran now owns the rugrats group as he laid down the law on the rest of the ankle biter set with another win.
As expected Tony W killed the giants once again...
The C race saw, Mathew Ashley ride off the front again, two weeks and row, He should be givin the B's run for there plaques next year!!
When the snow/mud and wind cleared and all the trash talk came to stop. Cyclenfits Eric Mueuhl is now the B state champion! He rode the rest of the B men off and soled in for a desreving win. with Andy brown cruisin in for second and the overall title.
Flyin Rhino Ann Shwartz came in with one thing in mind and that was another State title in Elite womens, and left with it, Rachel steele opted again to start back with the masters and rode completly interupted as her partner in cross was a no show. Masters men was battle of iits and elements as the snow began to spit and sputter, Cross veteran Eric Fernando came out to claim what was his, A 1st place state medal with a war woundede Mike Seaman in 2nd
The big new, in the 45+ field was Mark Woliec didnt win this year, he was edged out by Dave Belton

Elite Men. were do we start....two words, BLUE WAVE. The field was thick. with 2003 state champion Card, last years runner up Foshag,Multi state champion Weinert, 2005 state champion Jer Walker along with the Quiet One, (mike wissink), throw in Underdog, West Side Honch Tom Burke, and Mountain bike mounted outlaws Herriman and Kuhn, Sunrise boys, Weir, Rosewarne, The Master, Up and comin Moncel Man you were in for some pain. From the gun the bluewave made chaos of the field, Jer Walker went to the front and rode all but his teammates and the Q1, younggun off his wheel. I would equate it as a small atom bomb goin off leaving riders/debris scatterd around the bumpy infield. by mid race Card came through and opened the throtle and latered em, Q1, jumped a taxed Jer Walker and set off in 2nd, a hard chargin Underdog rode through Foshag and ailing Weinert in search of Walker and the money he took from him last week at Bloomer. meanwhile Jay Moncel carved his way to the 2 lone Cane Creekers, Foshag and Weinert, Foshag got back together and started to drive harder to The Underdog but ran out of time,In Final meters he drilled another awesome lookin sprint to tag the 5th and final money spot. Moncel kept together long enough to stay ahead of the always tough WMCR Tom Burke, and Flyin Frierichs.
Meanwhile Jon Card rolled in for another hard fought State Championship win infront of his always present wife and children.

In the late '70s and 1980s, Keith Morris epitomized punk rock in Los Angeles. From 1977-1979, he was Black Flag's original lead singer; and it wasn't long after leaving Black Flag that he formed the equally angry, equally incendiary the Circle Jerks. But like John Lydon, Henry Rollins, Exene, and many other punk icons, Morris didn't remain a full-time punk artist. He inevitably branched out into other styles of music, and his Midget Handjob project doesn't sound anything like either Black Flag or the Circle Jerks. 2000's Midnight Snack Break at the Poodle Factory, in fact, isn't punk at all; it's an eccentric, quirky, humorous blend of spoken word, alternative rock, and avant-garde jazz. Morris does very little singing on this intriguing, if uneven, CD; instead, he puts his own spin on spoken word while his Midget Handjob band provides some abstract, left of center rock/jazz accompaniment. Tracks like "Harry the Dentist" and "Jackhammer Floral Arrangement" are very tongue-in-cheek. While some spoken word artists take themselves much too seriously, Morris is good for some laughs. At times, Midnight Snack is too self-indulgent for its own good, which is a common problem in the spoken word field. But some of the time, he is clever and genuinely witty on a CD that finds him talking about everything from medical problems to noisy neighbors to drunken misadventures in New Orleans. Midnight Snack isn't easy to absorb on the first listen, but after playing the disc several times, listeners will find it to be an often entertaining, though imperfect, effort that has more ups than downs.

It was a picture perfect cross day, on a course that can be decribed as euro as we have seen it.

As the season winds down the courses just keep gettin better. and the racing more exciting. The field sizes were up and the energy level was right there too!, could be the warm weather, could be the anticipation to the end of season that seems to just have started, who knows but every class looked fast!
the little guys saw joe Foretran do it again, Brandon Goocher just cant shake that kid.
Our perdictions for the B race must of put some fire into Andy Browns Butt has he and the booze Hound along with Joe Budaki rode off the front and set a pace that left the rest scrambling for also ran positions , the group beat each other up and traded turns for 30 odd minutes, but in the end Andy uncorked a mean sprint and rolled in with the win and now has 2 to his name.
The Girls went interupted today too as Rachel Steele decided to start with the masters men to get alittle extra in, she rode through most of the field got her girls and is on track to take that DARK beer on those wooden steps HMMMM !
With the abscence of of DC and Flyin Frierichs the Masters were open for some new battles, but the loss of those left hole that Rich (still the Master) Stark couldnt pass it up, he filled it with just the right gear 1 chalk up one for him! our man Joe L looked stylish and strong all day..Way to go!!!
The Elite Field was stacked again, with the move up of DC and Flyin T, along with Jer Walker 2005 State Champ makin a rare Michiganscene apearence scince his departure to greener pastures, this set the rest of the crew in for a fast day at the office, throw in a Can of Jittery Joes coffee for the first lap winner ( thanks Sunrise) and we got the making of lactic nightmare from the gun. The Young Gun did his signature go until you blow (im tellin ya this kid is due..) bringin along a few others, Mid 1st lap the Blue Wave juggernaut of Foshag, Card and Weinert went to the front and proceeded to drive it, Foshag grabbed the Joe and it looked like a repeat of the Munster Race, with one exception ...The quiet One or now known as the REV?, someone help us with this.. is this true? is he gettin support from the mighty one??? oh he was in the Mix too! from the looks of these 4 they kept the pace up to gap the field, Sari, and Walker chased but made little ground, at the half way point just after Card and Weinert got away, Weinert suffered some type of belly issue and rolled to a stop and lay helpless in the pits, This sent Card off on his own for the remainder of the race and ride another Solo win in front of his his family, the battle for 2nd heated as the quiet one wasnt gettin any help from Cards teammate Foshag, the 2 riders rode together until the final straight when Foshag wound it up and came home for the Cane Creek 1-2 punch. Probably thee best battle was back for the final podium spots Weinert shook the gut problem, grabbed Walker and the two canecreekers caught the Flyin Rhino Sari, attacked him and took away his money.

It looks like this sets us up for great final at Waterford, with loyal westsidecrosskissers comin over for State Championship, we could see a shake up all across the board.

After goin through the Tailwind archives We find that JB has been on the MI cross scene for number of years, Yea he took a break but he still had that crossfire burning, and now its good to see him back hittin again...Heres JB bio...
So yeah.. I started biking when I was 14. Raced my first MTB race at Ithaca's Jailhouse trail. Got hooked on biking so I got involved with Tri City cyclists for a few years. They helped me grow tremendously but I moved to Team Revolution in 1999 with their start in Grand Blanc. I raced road and mountain for a few years in high school and then met the late Dennis Cotcamp who took me to my first cross race at Pontiac Lake (state championships). I was hooked on cross from then on. Went to Nationals in 1999 and got lapped by the (then) current junior world champion Matt Kelly, but then came back next year to finish 6th at the Chicago supercup (behind Mr. Superfast Bookwalter. Then I graduated high school and couldn't bring myself to get back on my bike.

So now I have a real job after playing lacrosse in college. Started riding this past January with the only goal of having FUN and making it through cross season, which is by far my favorite. Team Health Delivery/Giant Bicycles took me in and has been absolutely great to me after taking a 5 year leave of absence from the sport. I'm looking forward to the rest of cross season and a successful road season next year!

BIG surprise of the elite field was brian sheedy and in the womens field the girls interupted Steel, Galambos ventured into the hills to battle. and Super tough chick kacey manderfield was in there mixin it up too!...good job all and thanks for makin Mi look good.

Munster Cross..

What a great day for cross, and this weekend we were treated to what has to be the most spectator friendly course in the Tailwind series. just stand on the big grassy hill and enjoy all the pain and suffering that quickly unfolds around you.
The racing, well... it just keeps gettin better with every race and cat, Dean Rawson took the C field goin away, LIL Loe Foretran barely edged out The ever stylish Brandon Goocher, and the rest of the Goocher posse'.
Sunrise 1-2 punch in the junior race was AWESOME the Giant Killer Tony W and Teenage mutant Rafi Kronenburg went 1-2..These 2 guys are the future!!
Ron at Cycle Fit should be proud scince two of his riders took wins Susan Shaw took C womans, and Once again the B field saw another new winner Eric Muehel, this race was as exciting as we've seen yet this year as about 10 riders staying together until midway forced a split. Andy Klum from the buckeye state stopped drinkin long enough took second, I perdict the booze hound will be next winner of this race..just WATCH.
The Saturn of Toledo twins looked good and were only interupted by Anne Schwartz. Rachel Steele took another win and looks to be on course for the overall.
The Masters race was once again the Cameron/Frierichs show, this battle is gettin good with Cameron rollin in with the win, Too bad the Cyborg was MIA..
FRCC Mark Woliec got into the groove and won 45 +..
The Elite field was nothing short of a show of strength and utmost sheeer team work, all the heavies were there, The quiet one, The sunrise crew, Treks Jay Moncel, and the rest of the Elite field were ready.. young Gun took the holeshot and was set to prove himself, until one of the Blue wave riders, (Foshag) went to front just before the big run up and set the what would a key move in the outcome of the race, Card and Weinert rolled in shortly after and the 3 Cane Creek riders began clicking off a pace that left the rest of the field gasping for wheels, Team work played a big part in getting the hometown Cane Creeker Foshag to the line, for a LONG time coming win ,with his teammates taking the 2 and 3 uncontested, young Gun got a well deserved 4th and Tim sari finaly shaking some gremlins snagged 5th and final $$.
All I can say is that the display of unselfishness from the Cane Creek trio put a smile on my face as well as many others. unreal!
