How sad is it when there is not one single comment from the "Scene" when a rider (MS or not) teams up with another rider, "handicapped" or not (Karissa Whitsell, I say not!), and two days goes by without one comment saying great work. It appears that the "scene" is more about self promoting sh_t talking than actually recognizing great work and true committment to teamwork. Nice job Mackenzie and Karissa. Contrats to you both.

Agreed, but....

Seriously, there's probably only about 5 people who actually ever post anything up.

I say, how sad that there's not a WHOLE LOT MORE chatter amongst MISCENERS. Even your post is put up there anonoumously (sp?).

The MCG board gets 500+ unique visits per day and only about 1-2 posts.

If this really is MISCENE, let's see a lot more people TALKING IT UP!!!!!

If you're going a race - SHOUT IT!!!

If you're team is targeting a race - SHOUT IT LOUD!!!!

If you notice a great result, POST IT EVERYWHERE!!!!

That's my challenge!!! It can't just be TMS doin' it everywhere all the time!!!

OUT

The final time trial of the day was for the Women’s Blind and Visually Impaired. The tandem team of Karissa Whitsell (B/VI/Eugene, Ore.) and Mackenzie Woodring (Pilot for Whitsell/Grand Rapids, Mich.) finally found their gold after a fourth place finish and a bronze medal in the track cycling. Their posted time of 36:14.87 was 44.11 seconds faster than the second place team.

Woodring, who has been piloting for Whitsell for only five months, commented “We felt pretty confident going into the trials, but everything is so unknown because we have been together for such a short while.”

Whitsell agreed. “It was such an unknown. But we were confident and excited – the whole mixture of emotions. It was incredible and unreal that we won. We are not finished either – we race again on Sunday.”

I'm more of a visual guy. These three pictures say it all.
