Women's racing in Michigan is a joke. Show up and get paid is not sport.

Maybe women's payouts may seem out of line but racing is racing. The women still race hard, train, and go through the mental stress that you do to get themselves to the line on race day.(I am making a big assumption that your bitchy little self dares line up.) Complain about the payout not the women and their desire.

The problem that as a group, the women do not race as hard. A small percentage of the women's field do apply themselves, but on a whole, the group does not race as hard as the men's fields. I would also say that on a whole, the women do not apply themselves in training as the men. Agree on your point about the stress, but that alone should not be sufficient to attain equal payout.

I heard that the Sylvania race had a substantial amount of money for the women and only 5 or 6 women showed up to race. that is no way to support their argument for more money.

So you deserve their money? I fail to believe that so many of the riders making this argument race at the 1/2 level. If you are not competing and getting paid in 1/2 races you have absolutely no right to say anything about applying yourself or racing hard as a determining factor for getting paid.

well I can tell you a lot of people would consider just sit on to make sure they finished rather than racing their bikes if all the 1-2 field paid to 60 places and there were only 40 riders. It is the same thing as paying the women to 10 places and having 6 show up. There are probably a few really racing, the rest just riding to not work to hard and not get dropped.

kind of like some 1-2 guys out there only they will still sprint you at the end.

Grand Rapids Race this weekend is currently paying Pro 1/2 women's field $8,000 thru 20 places and only 12 riders signed up with online registration closed. Men 1/2/3 will be going after $1,000 thru 10 with 38 confirmed riders. Some how payout's should be based on a set number an adjusted plus or minus if above or below the baseline number.
