Im not going to debate this detail for detail, there's alot more to winning bike races than being gifted with a huge anaerobic system. With all do respect to Mr Tanguy, going into a seven corner crit with 40-50 other cat 1/2 for 75 minutes is a completely different ball game. Maybe a hilly road race he might be a factor, not Michigan hills, there not long enough..But that still may be a stretch no matter the dude kills it for off road.
just my opinion, and what do i know? im just a garbage man.
this is just marvelous, TMS gives just do props to a successful person. and anons have to turn this into a debate on how good he could be elsewhere Fuckin stupid people. Let it be. Thanks TMS for throwing CT some love
The problem with knowing for sure is that there are those few, the Greg LeMonds out there. I witnessed what could be done on a bicycle first hand by a teenager. And seeing that, it shows me that there are very special people out there with enormous talent. I don’t know how many of them there are, but it is not that many. And watching rider after rider go through the stratosphere over the winter, by training, or by getting a new coach, or by eating a vegan diet, gets really frustrating and old. It doesn’t work that way. Cycling doesn’t work that way.
For you guys talking about percent increases in a year, consider this.
Say some dude has a threshold wattage of 350 and weighs 200 lbs. this gives a power to weight of 1.75 W/lb. Now if the guys gains 10W and loses 20 lbs his new power to weight ratio is 2 W/lb.
That is a 12.5 % increase. I'm sure there are plenty of MiSceners that could lose 20 lbs pretty easily and if someone goes from riding when they get the time to structure training daily they would see much more than a 10 W increase. So just because someone makes a big jump, I don't see why it is automatically assumed they are doping.

Not bad math, but since you appear in the "know", then you also know that there is a HUGE difference in wattage b/w 12.5% and 30%-40% when it comes to cycling output.
"agree but WHO in Miscene dropped 20 lbs recently and went WFO."
Most guys, and gals, on the Michigan Scene look like they put on...20+ Big Ones (WSP) within 4 weeks after the Spring series are over. I guess you have to cut them some slack since that's the pinnacle of the road season.

He has modesty, alot of the fucktards on miscene should take note as he would shred most roadies if he switched disciplines...
+1
agree on the modesty part, but the other
speculative.
Who in michigan would beat him?

Actually his modesty was the opening remark and once again the self important misceners all hopped up on T have shown their "good" side again...
agree
It's amazing the roid rage on this blog....how many masters guys in michigan are on T,HGH anyways?
I don't get it either.
Hate haters. Hater hater

that is the biggest pile of truth Ive scene 2 date here on TMS
thanks
Oh you mean a coach like Matter won't give you 30%-40% increases? Then what will?
missed it
30%-40% increase
do you realize how big that is in the scope of wattage?
10-20 is more realistic

For the math challenged.
300w to 390x-420w.
Not obtainable in one year without just a little "help".
Where do you get 30-40% increase from? Are these guesses?
amen
