Does BM do demolition derbys as team building experiences? Over shooting corners, riding on the left dirt, almost takes someone out orange helmet, then his teammate takes out yet another BM. Guess people forgot IRL riding requires actually watching where you're riding. This is embarrassing for all of Michigan racing.
Lol! What do you expect nearly the whole team is at best at a Cat4 level of experience And it’s not going to get better with all the same old weekday races. I feel bad for a few that are still on the team that are great bike riders.
A race resume of a couple 4/5 races doesn’t make make you a safe race. Especially after riding himself off the course with no one around. That’s called being a liability.
Yea BUD! A10 said yellow line rule was strictly enforced. That's why you don't see several people over shooting corners and riding off road, left of the shoulder.... Oh wait.
That video raises the question if the BaseMedia pinball guy actually caused Base crasher 1 to take out Base crasher 2 by making contact with him. He's bouncing off people near the first guys left side.
There is no way around it, unfortunately with the down turn in road racing, and the only option are a slug fest group rides, and race car track mid week events, it’s going to remain this way. I won’t name names, but there are some strong riders out there both on and off the above mentioned teams that will continue to make bush league, hair brain maneuvers simply because there isn’t enough structure right now with decent events. This coming from a guy that has had the luxury of being able to come up through the category’s and obtain enough points at “real races” with “real separation “ Winning a field sprint or Winning a weekday world event And or even the one off end the year circuit race/state championship crit doesn’t always supply enough race savvy and smarts to keep your head cool in the heat of final. And not even to mention the virtual world.
It’s like the whole road scene became unassumingly inbred by shear nature of there surroundings. There is a reason besides all the normal excuses ( age covid etc) why some of the old stalwarts are not showing up anymore.
It’s like your eyesight going bad, you don’t know how bad your vision is until you put on some new glasses.
That race should of been 115 miles and that would solved that ridiculous 40 rider field sprint. 60 some odd miles for a state championship is a joke, yea, it’s suitable for a Cat3 race. But not a 1/2 event. Kinda like all the crits now a days that are at best 70 minutes, go back to real crit lengths at 90 minutes and all of sudden the pendulum swings the opposite way of the cat 3/4 crowd.
We are what we eat, and yes I have to admit that Base Media guy on the blue bike was probably the prime contributor of all that skin loss.

That was quite possibly the most sketchy finish I have ever witnessed, TMS, garbage fire? That is an understatement!
WOW!
Having impressive power doesn’t make you a good bike racer.

8:46 PM.
TRUTH
too much virtual cycling
Lumping cats 1-4 and all Masters in one race? No thanks, that's a recipe for disaster. Road racing as it was is dead.
agree.
Why in the Hell would a promoter even consider this dumb shit?
oh I forgot $
And to call it a State Championship?
Sad

Watts don’t come with race experience
That one BM guy was trying to take everyone including himself out. How did he manage to not crash.
WATTAGE
6:49 if you check the YouTube comments you will see that he assures everyone he is a safe racer, apparently that is when the camera's aren't rolling.
DOPAGE!

Horrible.
USA cycling should be held liable for allowing this to be a State Championship, luckily no one died!
It has to be a Michigan first!

Ugur Toson would have DSQ'ed them all after the 40 second mark.

Controlled Chaos?
There's no control. Just chaos
